Hey just wondering who everyone's favourite jockey is, and whether they influence their decision when picking their horse.

My favourite is Ryan Moore. He always seems to give a great ride and is very reliable. He's the first name i look for when going through the jockey list and sometimes i may even show blind loyalty to him. But not always. Just looking for a few other opinions on this.

I suppose it is a bit of an obvious one, but I will never rule out McCoy when reading the form. He truly can get the best out of a horse, and I dont think I have seen him give a bad ride to date. I have a lot of trust in him and he knows what he is doing.

I also like Natalia Gemelova, because she has........ erm.......... a great personality :)

Neil Callan - good around the all weather.
Robert Winston - seems to nearly swing me.
Declan McDonagh - been following him for a while.
Wayne Lordan - i nearly always back him in the first race of a meeting.

On the flat I like a few jockeys to be honest:

    Paul Hanagan
    Robert Winston
    Neill Callan
    Kieran McEvoy

there are many more talented jockeys and the man of the moment for me is John Egan on the flat. Gave Admiral a super ride in Chester and I was on a 40/1:)

In the jumps game I like:

    Brian Harding
    AP McCoy
    Martin Ferris

but was really impressed with a Mr 0 Harding who rode Hot Weld for Fredy Murphy this year. Fready now has 3 great jocks with Lee,Mercer & Dreaper

    THE GOOD
Ruby Walsh > Gr8 'honest' jock, cant remember a bad ride from him, if it does'nt get a result its gen the horse isnt good enough, can generally 'extract' and good ride even if the horse isnt in the mood.

Nina C > what can we say> Nina in the bumper = result (especailly if with N Meade. :D
    Gwan the NINA!!!! :)
Timmy Murphy >solid dependable sort ,generally gives v positive rides
    G Lee Solid see above.

Kieran Fallon> same as three below, does make the odd clanger(<getting boxed in on GW at teh Curragh).+Still considered 100% 'honest'???

N Callan, E Ahern and Frankie < all three prob add 10% to the horse they're on.

AP McCoy >Gr8 professinal, the Schumacher of the horse racing world? V solid over jumps, not really a flat specialist? only weakeness is always likes to leave it (very) late to get up to win, odd time is caught out by this.
    THE BAD (only a bit!)
    Jurys out......
Christian Williams, gotta like his all action style, his one plus point is that he gets his mounts goin, wheter they want to or not, good with difficult rides? :) falls a lot?
Jamie Spencer> v odd fish, doesnt win by much, maybe likes to showboat a bit? has talent, no doubt but a lot of annoymous efforts.

    AND THE UGLY :|
Rose Davdison (7)claimer < something she will never lose.
Do not EVER back anything shes on,it will lose. not by much by usual by a nose 1/2L on the line. She has no awareness of whats goin on arround her, has no idea where the other horses are> because she never looks back when leading. Plus when putting in a push for the line she has no idea of when to time her runs. Case for the prosecution >>both rides 1st June Bohemian Spirit< SHOCKER and The Names Bond earlier in the day (Wheterby)

Paul Carbury < i do not like thee P Carbury :)
case for the prosecution >check out his ride on Oscatello.
Plus if u on the fav, goin well, last 2 furlongs.... but here comes a 25-1 shot! goin like a train! P Carbury will be riding it. :(
<damn maybe thats a sign he might have some talent after all. :p
btw we should do a 'jockeys to watch/watch out!' sticky :)
