Where has the best deals? And what should I be looking for...

Also what games should I get if I get a deal pack? I really want Ghost Recon

Xtravision have a good offer on at the minute. There's details of it on a thread somewhere here.

You're best off buying your games on here. There are tons for sale far cheaper than in the shops on the FS Consoles board.

I've heard that some places are already offering deals on traded in consoles.
    Keep your eye out.

    The current deal is:

Xbox 360 full console (with 20gig hd, wireless controller, etc), FIFA World Cup game, Project Gotham Racing (or Perfect Dark Zero if you ask nicely ;)), World Cup Faceplate and pretty damn good leather football for 460 euro.

On top of this, you can immediately trade your two games in for 30 euro each cash, dropping the total to 400 euro - 10 less than the Xbox on its own!!

(PS while I'm at it, I'll point out that the 'trade-up' value of the two games as of this morning was e39 each, that is to say you can trade a game into Xtra-vision and get e39 off another game).

(PPS Xtra-vision aren't that picky [or professional] about swapping games. If you bring your receipt and perfectly saleable game into any store the next day they might be able to give you a different game if they're not on the ball, no pun intended).

Oh disclaimer yeah I work for them but I'm not on commission, it's just a good deal.

I'd be very wary of any second hand 360.

The console is... fragile, shall we say. Microsoft are absolutely fantastic when it comes to customer service and if something breaks you can always count on them, but I wouldn't be sure what the situation is if you call them and the xbox in question is registerred to someone else.

do places like xtravision allow you to trade in your old xbox + cash for a 360?

    Angry Banana,
Ever so slightly off topic for this thread, but on the trade-in values of games, does that price apply to all/most 360 games? (€39)

HMV have a decent offer. €499 for a premium with three games. That's €99 for three games and they let you pick any three which is good.

Thats thre core price the premium is 599 which is not nearly as good as the extra vision offer which I went for after bringing back a dodgy 360 to hmv only the other week.

I've just got bought one from HMV

I got the 360 PREM + GRAW for 449, and i bought another wireless ctrller + topspin2 + rockstar table tennis. I also signed up for the points redeem thing - and got money off all this - total came to 597.

3 of my other mates have bought 360's from the same hmv shop in galway and all are ok.

I'd say that's the standard price, yeah. If you want me to check specifics pm me. Not working until Monday though so you might be better popping into your local.

And XV will buy your old Xbox games but not your console. But it's probably not worth your while for most games, the prices can be fairly pitiful.

Just bought this today. Seems to be the best deal out there. If you like football games and racing games I dont think you can do much worse.

I bought mine from HMV and it was the best deal around. I bought the 449eur premium deal with ghost recon then got 21eur on my card against oblivion and now have another 5euro on my card and a voucher for 8euro if I spend more than 50eur again. Its very noisy though.. I thought they were supposed to fix those issues?

Game Stop offer €60 off when you trade in an xbox against an xbox 360 as far as I know
