council dump question

i got a shed full of rubbish. anyone know the basics of dumping in these places. i know there are limits to what you can dump there etc. thankx .

wheelie bins wouldnt pack a midget in to them mate.

Nowadays its very strict.I know a neighbour of mine rented a skip and was basically given a list of what he could and couldnt throw in it.

Make contact with your local council. They will know this.

You have two options:
Rent a small skip (not all that expensive).
Bring everything down to the IPODEC in Ballymount. Some things you'll have to pay for, some you won't:

Depends what you've got. So much can be recycled now. We're a family of four and can get away with sharing the cost of a wheely bin collection with a neighbour (family of two) because we separate so much crap out.

All tin, cardboard and paper can go in the green wheelie bin (free collection)

Bottles we take to the bottle bank (everywhere)

Plastic (the big one in volume if not weight terms. I am constantly amazed at how much of our rubbish is plastic packaging) We separate that out and bring it to the local recycling centre every week, Ringsend in our case ( I say we, I mean she).

When you then put all the vegetable and fruit peelings on to the compost heap, you're not left with a whole lot.

came in very uselfull indeed
i rang them and ive to speak to a guy in the morning. ive an old fridge and a few other things
wood etc. things wheelie bins would not take.
i even got some glass panels in doors etc. so safty would be an issue.
