Hotel/dinner in Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford, Dublin? Nice walks and stuff to see in all those places for your next day.

We live in a lovely country if we look for it and get out of home....http://www.ireland.ie/

what about the Osprey hotel in naas? you would get free passes to the Time nightclub. Maybe ring the hotel and see if you could arrange late dinner in your room or massages etc

I'm not being smart here, but 30th June is a Friday - just in case you make plans and end up getting it mixed up.

Best of luck with the night out................

What about Durrow? There is a big hotel in the square, the Castle Arms, don't know what it is like but might be a change? PortLaoise? The Heritage Hotel has a Pool, Sauna, Jacuzzi, Steam Room and Gym. Never been there either but they are suggestions. You'd need to check that the pool etc will still be open by the time you are ready to use them.

The Brooklodge in Wicklow could be nice, it looks really relaxing and seems to have a number of services available like restaurants, pubs, health spa's. It could be really relaxing and nice just for the two of you to spend some time together there.

I would try booking the Kilford Arms in Kilkenny its great not too dear but has a lovely restaurant, karaoke bar, free passes to their late bar and their night club id well recommend it. Best of all you can go up to kilkenny castle the next day - gorgus esp in this weather!

The Kilford is a kip! How about Lyrath Hotel in Kilkenny. Its on the Carlow road out of Kilkenny so its easy to get to and its very luxurious.

Is it just me or does the sunny weather bring out the scumbags in droves. The amount of people i saw yesterday walking around bare chested with crappy indian ink tatoos whilst drinking was unbelievable. The top of o'connel street there was actually two of them passed out in the middle of the street with people casually walking around them. That park off gardiner street was like something from fort apache the bronx with people falling around locked at 1 o'clock in the day, whilst kids either sat in buggys drinking coke out of bottles or just sat in the sun screaming.I think Dublin is getting worse by the year.

Try Mount Wolsley in Tullow, 4* Hotel, Jaccuzi / Health Spa Etc for her / You if your interested or if not for you, you could just bring your golf clubs....

Was there last month , 2 nights Bed & Breakfast (Buffet.....Wooo hoo!!) 1 Evening Meal (1st class ) all for EUR 145.00 per person.

Only 15-20 mins to Carlow in local Taxi / minibus (Minibus EUR 6.00 per head)...

    Mount Wolsley
    excellent choice.
    Ormode hotel
    very nice but expensive.
    Lyrath
is brand new but doesnt have a swimning pool

You could try a place called the Millrace in Bunclody.
Very nice hotel but "very unheard of in the middle of nowhere".

Faithlegg in Waterford very swish hotel.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Lyrath from people who have stayed there recently. All the rest of the hotels in Kilkenny are very pedestrian and run of the mill. If you can afford it, Lyrath is your man. Don't whatever you do take her to the Kilford Arms!
