ever since they put up their new site it's barely worked, ye would have thought they'd have tested it before making it available to joe public :-(

    You need to re-register.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 8,486 ✭✭✭miju

ah jaysis sofaking gimme some credit will ye LOL

i re registered last week (took me about 20 attempts cos the site wouldn't load)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,836 ✭✭✭Vokes

Yeah, its definitley slower compared to before.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 938 ✭✭✭blah

I found when registering (again) that it wouldn't let me put ' in my name. And it kept bringing you back to the "fill in details" page with errors and deleting half the fields I'd already entered. And it wouldn't accept a . in my O2online.ie choice of email. So I just went ahead and picked "o2onlinesucks@o2online.ie. I would've used it to let them know how crappy the whole thing is but I couldn't find an IT support email address.

I dont think user friendly is the right term...I think broken website would be the right term.

Its such a pain in da hole, eventually got to screen to send webtexts then it cacked itself again.... It was about the tenth time at that stage, piece of shíte.

    damn o2

****e is all I can say. It hasnt worked properly since the update.
Can't send texts today at all, last week I could only log on sometimes.
I work testing websites etc and If we put something live that wasn't tested
fully there would be hell to pay.........

Yea, new website sucks =/ Never had any triuble with webtexts before but now sometimes they arrive 4 hours late, or not at all

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Man maybe you could give o2 a hand...this is beyond taking the piss.

they definately make a big feck-up puting the site live before it was ready.

I was thinking of moving phone companies and this is just the spur I need to check out the latest offers.

    damn o2

ditto, FINALLY got onto the webtext screen and then pffffffttttttttt it went again

i do notice however, that anything that involves you giving them money / paying works perfectly and very fast, work with websites myself and i'd never dream of putting something like that live without it fully working

honest to jaysis i'm moving to vodafone, they're rarely down - does what it needs to do ( with no extra features that we dont really need) plus getting through to your voicemail is free (something thats always annoyed me about O2 )

Webtexts are certainly down again, wonder how much extra money o2 have made since the new site launched.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,111 ✭✭✭joker77

Did anyone know this was happening? I use O2.ie practically every day, it's my main mail account (outside my work one), and for the free texts.

I had no idea there was going to be a new site, where your old username is binned, you have to use your mobile number to log in, and reregister! In all my years using the internet, I've NEVER come across a site where you have to reregister with a new username. Bad bad bad bad bad.

I just tried to log in on a Monday morning, was told I wouldn't be able to use the site for 24 hours, which turned into about 36 hours, and then when it did get up and running it's just working intermittently.

Fair enough the site STILL says "We may still be experiencing some technical difficulties. Please bear with us.", but that's not really good enough considering when they launched it.

Whoever is in charge over there should be asked some very serious questions. And c'mon, it's not as if they're not fleecing the Irish market in charges, it's not as if they can't afford to redo the site properly if they are going to reengineer or rearchitect it....

    And other such rants

I can get as far as my homepage easily enough, but when I try to send a webtext I get: "502 Bad Gateway"

    Absolute shower.

You mean to tell me that people here have actually managed to re-register.

I've tried many a time now to complete the re-registration and it failed on me. I'm more than annoyed at this stage. I want my free texts back!!!!

Also, didn't they pull some stunt like this a few years ago for it to do the exact same thing. What they ended up doing then was returnig to the old website.

    A.

Someone here on boards must either work there, or know someone who works there - how about finding out what's really going on over there?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 637 ✭✭✭Emmo

    I used to work there.

email address for complaining (or for compliments? yeah, I'm sure that happens a lot) is: customer.first@o2.com

Top-up isn't working today either - thought since that involved giving them money there'd be more chance of it! Sent them a long email complaining today and told them to check out multiple threads here for details of more issues. If I could find the email address of someone higher up in O2 I'd send them links to here as well.

Only thing about webtext not working as well is that I'll use up the remains of my text bundle on my phone quicker and that'll leave me free to change networks.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 8,486 ✭✭✭miju

actually sent them an email to their customer.first@o2.com address and lo and behold it was returned as an invalid email address

defo making the switch to vodafone (dunno why i ever left them to be honest)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 417 ✭✭randomname

I can tell you why you left vodafone...same reason as i did shower of ****. A few more months then i can leave o2!

But that aside i cant believe the site breaks on some many fronts and what is really shocking is that havent fixed it by now!

Well they can add to the huge list of problems with their website then!

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 8,486 ✭✭✭miju

hmmm customer.first email addy seems to be working again, at least thats one thing, have emailed them a nice long complaint and have asked for the unlocking code for my phone so i can swap back to vodafone

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,111 ✭✭✭joker77

Just sent an email to customer.first@o2.com - hasn't been rejected as yet, if it does I'll let you know.
Think letting them know the level of frustration might be a good idea

Edit: I'll also add in to this thread the response (if I ever get one) to a fairly straightforward question I asked...

Definitely moving from O2 now, had huge billing problems for the first few months. Went to Liverpool for a weekend and only made a couple of calls and sent a couple of texts and my bill was huge and now this...
The only problem is where do you go from here?, they all seem to be the same.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 417 ✭✭randomname

Meteor but i dont know what their website is like....vodafone were really expensive for me thats why i changed.

Got an autoreply for the email i sent to o2.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 8,486 ✭✭✭miju

i honestly dont vodafone are the worst, put it this way anytime i've moved away from them i've always ended up regretting it and moved back

the way i look at it:

o2 = complete ****e / charges for everything / had billing issues that despite 4 attempts on their behalf still not resolved / seems to have had network issues recently in the dublin 11 area at least

meteor = nice and cheap but has coverage / network issues which is something i REALLY cant stand

vodafone = mid priced / few free things / never once had a billing or coverage / delay issue with them in about 5 odd years of being with them on and off

has anyone else had to change their password 4 or 5 times?

I emailed the customer services yesterday. Have not been able to log in, view my call details or send webtexts yesterday.

Managed to send some group texts last week.

They must be making quite a bit more money if people are having to pay to send texts or make calls instead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86 ✭✭shaneos

I couldn't register with them online- but I rang them up and they were eventually able to register my name for me ( it took them 3 goes).

Had the same problem of having to change my password a few times for no apparent reason!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 294 ✭✭Misty Moon

Well, got autoreply first (which I like, at least I know my email sent correctly) and just now (fairly impressive, same day turnaround) this reply:

"Thank you for your email and for bringing this matter to our attention.

We have been experiencing some issues with the changeover to our new website and we have been working to resolve these as a matter of urgency.

We regret any inconvenience caused to you arising out of this.

Thank you again for your email as we value all feedback from our customers."

I'm so glad I got out of customer service when I did - I can just imagine them having put this response together. It seems to me that the people in the complaints/compliments department know that it's a rubbish website but can't do anything about it. Poor them. But poor me more!

And yes, I did have to change my password a few times but finally seem to have one that works but it's not much use to me since nothing else on the site seems to work!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,469 ✭✭✭Pythia

*is very glad she moved away from o2*

*sends vodafone webtext with no trouble*

Jesus, seriously, I've had commodore64 games that loaded quicker than this poxy excuse for a website.
Literally 5 minutes of loading...I'm no expert but it seems to me like the server the site is running off/hosted on is very badly configured...loads of errors trying to access log-in pages.
Why did they "fix" what wasn't broke?

I registered again with them, but now it wont allow me to enable higher access to check my bill.

    What a load of cack.

ah ya gotta love o2. i live500 yards from one of their transmitters, if i ever saw full reception on my phone, i knew that the phone had changed network accidentally to vodafone (maybe it was telling me something:D )
