Is there any Poker strategy book published by any of the UK or Irish players ?

Would be nice to see some fresh material.

lol, you two always have to be involved in a hand if the other one is in.

    Ermmm .... any other suggestions?

I read Mark's blog from time to time, so another angle would be good;)

From what I hear about the Strahan book, there's some dodgy advice in it. Haven't read it, so cant say for certain.

Isn't Scott Gray involved with a very expensive book about online poker? There was a thread on here way back, I think.

It might be a good book/manual, but that link reminded me of one of those US infomercials that go on and on and on...

I bought this last Xmas and it was a good read, but its mostly for new players and doesn't really teach you anything new for advance players. The subject on gears is good and how Scott plays the online tourney is a good read.

I think you already have a copy Mick, but if you want a lend of it no problem.

Lets just say "a friend" told me , yeah thats good,........ Dont buy the Scott Gray/PP/JG book. The authors got a flat fee, wrote it up whilst in Vegas and have never had a good word to say about it. Remember, "a friend".

25 titles, I'll nearly guess you have all the same title as me, Harrington, Scott, Tells, Cairo etc.

    lol

if you want a lend of it pm me, my Dad is currently reading it, so after that its free.

25 titles? are you serious, come on how many books do you need.

When I started playing semi seriously I bought SS, and when I wanted to learn stud I bought a book on that. I recently got a present of the harrington books and despite good intentions to reading them it just hasnt happened past a cursory glance.

Buy 1 respected poker book, read it read it again and then play loads, that imo is the only way to learn.

I have a freind who plays in a home game I frequent who has about ten poker books and can quote off them all but is unable to implement any of it, before he changed his game after reading these books he was a far better player.

If I want to read about poker I get novel type books like big deal etc

ok, some are novels, some are bios most are strategy. I cant tell you how much a select few have changed my game over the last 5 or 6 years. you are right though, you have to study em, takes notes and see how they effect your game over a spell to reap the rewards. all comes down to how much time you're happy to put in and a willingness to change your game
