Reserved slots on 1st-ib 24/7 Karky server

Hi lads,
Just to let you all know Ive been adding anyone Ive seen from boards.ie to the reserved slots on our karky 24/7 server. its full most evenings and im trying to have more irish on it than brits, so Im adding any one I see from boards.ie or any one from any of the Irish clans I see on the server. I have already added a lot of NRG ( who are on there a lot anyway ) and I added TIG. shaddow last night. I tried to add Kadjac the other day but my BF2cc went tits up on me then he left before I got it sorted.
So If ya are on our server ( Ip is in the sticky ) and ya see me on chat to me ingame and ask me to add you to the reserved slots. ALso if ya cant get on cause its full let me know on xfire ( spookydon ) and i`ll kick some one for ya . Do not ask other 1st-ib members to do this for you only my self and AK47 know who the boards.ie regulars are so its only the two of us doing it right now.
Our server is 32 (2) atm but we are upping the capacity soon to 36 (4) so the 4 reserved slots will be pleanty. I have not yet seen our 2 reserved slots used I almost think 1 is enough.

I used to think that too but then have ua ever tried to log into bf2 cc takes like 5 mins some times and thats assuming I have my laptop booted up. Nah I do like the reserved slots. ANd what about our budies like you who are now on the reserved slots.

Im not sure why ya got kicked kdjac but should not happen again.

BTW I ment to mention that im only on after 11pm this week due to work.

Spooky you dont need to log into BF2cc to clear slots. You need to register your guid for in game admin access. This is easy to do and then allows you to set next map, change map, warn, boot etc all from global text.

Its easy to set up, all you do is jump onto the server in the game and then tie your guid to your bf2cc profile. Then eg to setnext map is "!setnext Shar" which sets next map to sharqi.

Yeah scrapper was telling me this the other day. But sure I have bf2cc on my lappy so its not really a problem.

The point is: that not all 1st-ib members have admin to the server,
and if there's no admins around to kick, our members can still get on the server.

Thats where the in game admin access comes in. You can create a lower tier of access allowing just kick/change map etc and give that to all members.

yeah but we gota learn how to do that then show others to do it. BTW we will be exporting the reserved slot list over to out AF server . IP is 85.133.16.69:16567 ( I dont think that ip is in the sticky, if it is feel free to remove it mods.)

Lads the 24/7 karkand server is great to play on but the mixing the teams thing is terrible. Granted clans will want to play together, but even when you have a bit of decent team work going with randomers its all in the air when the map ends.

Well it prevents one team from dominating all the time. Ive been on servers where every one stays on the same team and no one changes and the one team always dominates.

BTW there are no reserved slots on our server atm just all 34 slots are open. Not sure why but our reserve slots were not working yesterday, I had to kick someone so I could get on, and I hate doing that.

Yeah but the other night when a round ended people where just switching sides again to the way it was. It also means that you dont get to play both sides of the map. Tis your call lads but I thought it ruined the game play. If there are decent players on a server and they are winning all the time you'll find that they will switch sides to give some balance.

yeah i agree with fairy there. Its only lamers that don't switch when they see one team getting hockeyed all the time. Decent players will help out

Good server ye guys are running, definitely one of the better servers that i've played on, keep it up and see ya's on there soon.

Hey Bill, Artimus here. It would've been nice to experience the joy of the 1st-ib server, but I kept getting BSODs and "Thread Stuck in Device Driver" errors. :rolleyes:

Ah Artimus ya Muppet... very "GariBaldi" indeed after the shaven head in Cork! Get a bit of a new PSU or at least at a minimum a new reinstall/GHOST or ur POS to solve all the issues. BBB (Bish! Bash! Bosh!)

Spooky, who do I have to pay to get my name on the reserved list for your AF server ?

It's one of the more impressive ones out there and it's a bitch when it's full (which is often the case).

The AF server is actually owened by a member so id have to ask him about that but he is a very easy going lad. Whats yer BF2 account name dude ?

Yeah its cool and I spoke to the ownwer of our AF server and he said it was ok to add you so i`ll put ya on tonight when I get home from work, wont be till after 11pm though.

OK ponster yer added to the AF reserved slots but only from this morning, I forgot last night.

No problem as got on last night before it filled up.

I even managed to find a 5-member squad that didn't include a sniper and had a SL that played as a spawn point and not a Rambo
