    I was measured and checked etc in my gym when I joined and the following are my stats

    20 years old
    6 feet 3 inches tall
    105.4 kg's in mass
    18.4% bodyfat
    2,338 calories burned per day without any exercise

    I had a program set up with a healthy heart and lungs in mind as I gave up smoking about two and a half months ago and I really wanted to get back to being able to breath properly and have a healthy heart.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    My current program is as follows:

    Monday: 35mins low resistance fat burning [cross trainer].
    15-20 minutes of cardio on the treadmill
    upper body only weights program
    Tuesday: 35mins fat burning + 15-20 minutes of cardio
    Wednesday: 35mins low resistance fat burning [cross trainer].
    15-20 minutes of cardio on the treadmill
    legs only weight program.
    Thursday: 35mins fat burning + 15-20 minutes of cardio
    Friday: 35mins low resistance fat burning [cross trainer]
    15-20 minutes of cardio [treadmill]
    abs only workout.

    Note: cardio and fat burning are the same exercise and machines each day.

    I was never told to do the cardio+fat burning on the tuesday+thursday but I like doing it and I dont see the downside.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    The problem I am having is I am completely unsure of what I should be eating to complement a program like this. I would be very appreciative of any help or suggestions.

    Dermot.

    Right, well all the basics are covered in the sticky at the top of the page, or in other words this one here. Why don't you post up what you currently eat and then its easier to point out where you may need to make some changes or where you're headed in the right direction- its often easier for people to gradually modify their existing diet than start from scratch.

    Thanks.

    The thing is at the moment I dont have a fixed eating plan because my hours change each week and I dont know ehere I am going to be eating etc depending on whats being served at work. So basically I lack stability in my diet.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    I'm going to hazard that eating the standard 2500 calories a day while trying to lose weight requires serious workout effort. In addition to that I read in Men's fitness magazine (I know mags are not the be all and the end all) that eating 2000 a day and exercising for 750 a day (my fat burning does around 400 alone) creates a calorie deficit of 9000 a week which results on average a ~2lb loss in mass per week.

    I understand this is not an exact science. I also understand the basic principals of eating food in conjunction with working out. I was looking for an actual list of what to eat during the day instead of general pointers towards what is good and bad.

    I dont mean to be demanding by asking for a more specific eating plan but I dont know enough to make one up myself.

    Thanks,
    Dermot.
