    Hi,

I will get a tracking software and I've heard a lot of good things about Poker Office 2 so that's probably what I will get. Do any of you guys use it and do you recommend it?

Pokertracker seems to be the choice of most people. What's different about Poker Office?

I tried the trial of PO since a few people here were mentioning it. Here's a few quick points I had:

    Advantages:
    - Don't need to pay for Pokertracker + PAHUD, products are combined in one
    - Hand rankings are useful for new players
    - Hand improvement statistics + pot odds are handy to have available

    Disadvantages:
    - Current version doesn't allow you to see mucked hole cards on showdown automatically (like PAHUD does, there are plans to do similar soon)
    - Not sure if the back end database supports the type of queries which would allow you to find holes in your game like pokertracker does. (Cursory look at it, it seemed to provide some of them at least, but this is one of pokertracker's big strengths so someone should check for sure)
    - Third party tools like PokerGrapher won't work with it as it requires PokerTracker databases.
    - Display window is quite large (though experienced players can probably ignore it and rely on the HUD stats).

    - That's not true. Mucked hole cards is is showed.
    - Post game analysis is even better in Poker Office in my oppinion, you can filter out all the hands where you had an open ended straight draw, middle pair, gutshot straight draw in middle position etc.
    - Why would you want any third party tools? Poker Office has some great built in graphs.
    - The display window is quite large but it's optional to use it.

I'm using Poker Office and recommend it. Poker Office is also running a bunch of promotions; ex sign up to a site and get Poker Office 2 for free. You can read all about that on www.pokeroffice.com

I was using it for the full trial and couldn't find a way to get the hole cards to display. Just thinking now, are they displayed in the window instead of using the HUD (like PAHUD does) perhaps? I didn't pay much attention to the background window after a while, perhaps I was missing them showing there. The webpage says the help for PO2 isn't available yet, so perhaps it's covered in there when it comes out.

Just to be fair, you can also get pokertracker and PAhud for free by signing up with sites too.

Oh, another nice Poker Office advantage:
    - The HUD also displays people's action on each round (so you can see who raised before the flop, who called, who reraised etc at a glance).

I tested a trial version of PO a while back using prima (all-in) and also pokerstars. With two tables and PO running my computer was brick slow. If your PC isn't so new i'd be wary of getting this.

I can't see how a system that records the hands as they are played could possibly record mucked hole cards as it relys on the actual cards being shown.

This usually gets better if you change the format of the database to MySQL.

This information can also be found if you read the hand histories but Poker Office shows it graphically right on the screen.

OK here's a Question for you PO users, by the sounds of it PO uses the info on the screen, therefore is it possible to open say 8 tables and just let it Datamine away??

Seeing as nearly all the sites now have stopped datamining, is PO a way around this??

erm po reads hand histories.. it probably still uses the other visual method for some poker sites though.

It's not possible on Partypoker but it is on Prima Network, iPoker Network, Pacific Poker and PokerStars.

its great that we were lucky enough to have two new forum members who are so interested in Poker Office. The thread wouldn't have been the same otherwise!
