I'm after a recommendation to a good psychotherapist and/or life coach. I'm weary of any shamans out there, I want a practicioner that uses methods that are widely supported amongst the scientific community.

To get a recommendation, can anyone recommend a Dublin based GP who is well informed in this field?

There isa huge difference between a psychotherapist and a life coach. I'm a psychotherapist myself. Why not just go to your own GP and explain what the difficulty is and take it from there. Or maybe have a look in the yellow pages lots of therapists there, and try a few of those. Another sugesstion would be to contact the psychotherapy organisations also in the yellow pages, suct as APPI, IAAAC, IACP. Best of luck with it

I admire your sentiment of finding someone who is firstly qualified as a GP, as quacks abound.

    ...but a life-coach? Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

Are you having mental-heath problems, or just a lifestyle crises?

Also bear in mind that psychotherapy might not be the most suitable therapy. Ask your GP about psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and any other therapies that may be of benefit to whatever is troubling you. Some therapies are better for some people than they are for others so make sure you know what your options are.
