hey everyone was just wondering does anyone out there have a Bishop essay they would be willing to share????? im stressing majorly now because i only know the two irish poets and i think i should do a woman just to be sure.
I had to repeat this year cause was sick last year and my class did all the poetry last year so its hard doing poets on your own.
    please let me know,
    thanks,
    michelle

I'm doing her but have no essay learnt off. Just some things that should be included in an essay on her
    • The way she appeals to the senses
    • Use of colour
    • Theme of the sea
    • Ah **** I can't think of any more. Need to do some studying

no. chances are 1 will come up.

don't go learning 5 poets off like some textperts will do, just stick to the minimum. no point in doing unnecessary work.

cover those 2 well and have a glance over Hardy as he will definately come up.

Hopkins, hardy and longley are the only ones I know anything about

Yeah. You should be ok with longley and yeats and an irish poet always comes up. Look at longley in particular. You should be alright. Its a chance but one I would take in your position. Also Learning Bishop is no harm. She is very likely.

Have a look at a few others just in case, but hopefully thatl be ok

An Irish poet and a female poet pratically always come up.So drop Yeats michelle_i,learn Bishop instead and learn Hardy who is likely to come up as well.

I'm doing 4 rather then 5,dropping Hardy who I personally despise with vengeance.

You'd want to learn 2 female or 2 Irish rather than one of each....

In truth, you should just learn Hardy,Yeats,Longley,Bishop and Plath.Just in case.Prepare to fail and all of that...

Influence of her upbringing, parents, sickness, locations, imagery, tendancy to take simple things and dissect them (verbally of course!) eg The Fish, Filling Station... I could go on but I cannae be arsed.

its so hard to predict though, last year was so easy because well dickinson was bound to come up...

plath and bishop are both up next year, as is yeats... but i dont know... bishop hasnt been up since 2002 and plath in 2004 but regardless one or the other is gonna come up this year, but which do u study..
f it im takin a risk and goin for irish alone, im so past caring at this stage

The exact 5 I've learnt :D I don't want to leave anything to chance.

Oh and to the person who started the thread, go to www.e-xamit.ie and put in vjmtzc and vggruq for two sample Bishop essays' :D Some of them are ****e, but these ones are actually quite good, if you combine the best of the two ;)

I'd laugh if Hardy didn't come up!

Come on, it's like the departement to be awkward - I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't there at all.
