Power supply/adapter beeping?/not working....

My sony power supply has stopped working, and the adapter is beeping? The little light on the adapter doesn't come on though, i am badly stuck without it I know I'll get a new one from sony undr my warranty but has anyone any suggestions for a fix in the mean time?

For a laptop i presume? you can get generic replacements from trust and the like try pc world
