Going on a picnic over the weekend, looking for some suggestions of what to bring, foodwise.

There'll just be the 2 of us. Any suggestions?

Strawberries, she can eat them out of your bellybutton or ear, whichever is sexier.

Like someone gave me the recipie for Cuban Sandwiches. Oh, were they yummmmmmmy! Sliced rolls, swiss cheese, thin sliced cured pork, thin sliced pickels, tangy mustard, compress it while you heat it in a George Forman cooker, then slice into triangles and pack for travel. Oh, they said a little bubbly, too, would help wash it down.

They have a great selection of picnic/finger foods in M&S.

    Sausage rolls
    Chicken dippers
    Mini pizzas
    salads
    sambos
    sambo fillers in handy containers
    wine, wine, wine

Have a great time and don't forget the sunblock! :D

Well No1 on the list should be Strawberries.

I am assuming this is a romantic picnic so Champers is next.

Quiche is quite nice with some cooked chicken legs picked up at the deli counter. Maybe a little salad made up of cherry tomatoes, chopped cucumber, spring onions, with some lime juice and a little coriander.

All you need is a blanket and a few hours of company in the sun to complete it :D

a small hot stuffed cooked chicken!!!
absolutely lovely. You can make gorgeous sandwiches or rolls, or eat it off plates with salads, or of course there is nothing nicer than just picking at a cooked chicken. Or you can feed it to eachother, ha ha, as I imagine this to be a romantic picnic?! ;)

Damn straight! Fancy city folk with ye're strawberries and champagne and quiche....... pfff! The above is how we do things down "d'country" and is the proper, Irish way of having a picnic.

Combine that with being attacked by wasps and midges and having to pick turf mull out of your hang sangwich and you've got the perfect traditional Irish picnic right there. Oh, and throw in a bit of turf footing afterwards along with that and that's a perfect Irish summer's day out! ;):D

Your picnic is probably over know, but you should carry various insect repellent, Anytime I ever see food out of doors on a day like today it isn't long before an entire army of wasps descend to crash the party. I have to run off in a tizzy screaming like a girl, It really is quite hilarious I must get myself taped when Wasps come round me again.
