    No, dont do drugs at all. Supposedly they kinda knew someone with long hair exactly like mine called Mushy, so the name was transferred onto me by them. I havent questioned this decision since

    I was listening to the Super Furry Animals when asked to come up with one. Sadly I found out afterwards there's another, more sinister brand of furry out there - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furry_lifestyler

    My story is boring... When I first connected to the internet in an internet café in Grafton Street it was to create an Yahoo! e-mail address. My name being Stéphane I requested it to be stephane@yahoo.com. Obviously it was taken so the website proposed a list of similar addresses. Steffano2002@yahoo.com was at the top so I just used that. And because my memory is poor I decided to use this for the (hundreds!) of website I have to create an account for... As you can see, boring/cr@p story...

    Mine comes from the place where I was born and schooled, Sligo. Why did I choose "yeatscounty"? Because I'm an unimaginative git, that's why.

    From a very minor character in Terry Pratchett's 'Discworld' books.
    Ronron Revelation Joe Shuwadhi appears in one footnote in one book out of a series of nearly thirty!
    Although he is also mentioned in the Discworld Noir game :)

    Weldon = surname

    Welly = nickname as a result :p

    J = First initial

    Therefore.....

    WellyJ was a logical choice

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 776 ✭✭✭Narcissus

    I was gonna pick "Pisslips" but it was already taken. :)

    Nah, seriously, Apapaia is the name of a song by an Italian group called Litfiba.

    Think there was a few threads of this before but no harm in a refresher. Mainly for the benefit of people who cant pronounce my real name (im looking at you Americanos :) ) My real name being Ruairi so it was just shortened to Ruu. It started during primary school and just stuck since then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

    I have this big red oh-so-comfortable hoody that has "Piste Girls" written accross the front and I wore it a -lot- when I was 13. When I waas in Irish College two years ago people stopped bothering to learn my name and just called me "Piste" and even after that people knew me by my hoody. I liked the name so I now use it for most things, or a variation (Pistie, Etsip) if it's already taken.

    But I didn't actually register as Piste, I just changed my name to it about a year ago, I used to be Gummybearz!!! (yes with the !s and all) When I was in 6th class my friend randomly handed me a piece of paper with "Gummybearz!!!" written on it and I kinda liked the word so I used it as my handly until I realised how n00bish it looked :P
