I don't think it will be tomorrow as they never release content on a Friday due to the weekend.

I think they might be having some problems as the Kb articles said it was last week, and the interview Major Nelson did with the PR guy talked about this week, also the the video for 10.com showing the new update mentioned that day. It supposidly was in the final stages of testing so maybe something has cropped up.

The gamerpicture thing is pointless. You can have a "private" picture friends only can see, but you cant select any picture from usb camera/usb memory stick etc.. :rolleyes: So having say masterchief as public, and another angle of him as your friends only private picture seems entirely pointless to me?

This way you can have your naked pics up for all your friends to see and something a little less saucy for the rest

I know, I mentioned that :rolleyes: but it means you have to buy the webcam! you cant select a pic from over the network/from connected portable device/or from a digital camera!! the source picture must be taken from MS add-on cam which is a load of bollox :mad:

I think your missing the point, MS being money hungry as they are have made the 360 compatible with only the MS branded webcam, which is expected sure, but still very annoying. Also, the only way to actually use a custom gamerpic is if you have the camera. So the only source you can use, is the one you have to pay whatever €30+ for :mad:the camera. Even though you could easily put pictures on a portable memory device, or usb digital camera, but they prevent this = MS bastids.

look at the PS2 cam thingy it's a USB as far as I know but you can't plug just any USB webcam in there.

At the moment you can't have a custom Gamerpic at all (not that I'm particularly jonesin for my own custom gamerpic) but is (the suggested) €30 really that much to pay? Plus I heard somewhere that you'll be able to use it on windows as well so it the one cam to unite them all

the thing i like about the new 360 camera is that it is completely compatable with windows xp. no need to install any drivers or anything (according to major nelson)...

they could have easily just made the 360 cam only for the 360... I'm gonna get it and say a big thank you to MS, as i need a webcam anyway for me pc.

You can choose between the ones that are available, that includes ones you buy on the marketplace. That doesn't mean custom though, I presume when Alnilam says custom he means the same I do, as in a picture you provide yourself or take yourself, not one from a bunch anyone can use (those aren't custom, you can customise your profile by picking a different picture, but they arent custom pictures).

When the cam comes out that will mean custom pictures, so that's why they added that 2-picture thing, so you can have an avatar like you do now, and a photo in your friend-profile.

In fairness, I don't think you were the one getting confused

I just read something aswell that indicates the photo-gamerpic is only going to be in the friend profile, so you cannot have it for all to see. Now it could just be a rumour, but if it's true that means you won't see any balls/boobs on XBL unless those people are on your friends list. The main pic would stay as it is now. If that is true it's a little disappointing, but we shall see what Major Nelson says as he's usually the first to bring us news.

You should listen to Major Nelsons second to last Podcast

The one about the update as he has an interview with one of the marketing guys and they talk about the update for about 30 minutes, the custom gamerpic topic came up and one of the reasons that you can only have a custom gamerpic shown on your friends list is so that the community will self police. There will also be a negative feedback option which will let you report indecent or offensive gamer pics.
