Weird encounters in Trinity

so, i'm wandering back from house 6 after buying cigarettes, talking to Donal and throwing pigs out the circular hole in his window, and just as i'm wandering up the steps to the Library, I see this girl who looks like a tourist. and looks AWFULLY familiar.

then it hits me - she was a girl in my class in CTYI in 2002 from the States. She was in my architecture class, her name was Maddee (short for Madeline i think?) and i had a crush on her for, oh, 3 days. and i'm 100% sure it was the same girl, just four years older.

I didn't say hi or anything, odds are she wouldn't remember me and it'd just be a weirdass conversation - but it struck me as so weird!

anybody else ever have really random blasts from the past in Trinity? On a side note, the first girl I ever kissed started in college this year - run into her from time to time. weird.

Oh my God, I think she was in my RA group! Blonde? And sometimes went by the name Rosie? Really laid-back girl, lovely, think she was Californian. Or else from Connecticut. One or the other.

That's so spooky. Also that you were in CTYI when I was an RA...

Nah, she was a brunette - quite tanned dark skin. and yes, that is creepy. btw, anyone dropped out that I can take a job from? :P Think I might email Colm and ask.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,626 ✭✭✭Stargal

Really? Wow, what are the odds that there were two girls called Madeleine there that year?

Haven't heard of anyone dropping out but someone always does. Worth a shot, it'd be cool if you were there again.

And just to get back on topic and away from any potential clique allegations:
    I've run into um....

    This is tough actually....

    Yeargh. Can't think of anyone.

Saw Jim Corr in Front Square a few months ago. That was weird.

Weird encounters.. There was that one time that StrawberryClock came to Trinity.

This video is somewhat more entertaining but features less of the college itself:

Hey what’s CTYI. Please excuse my ignorance it comes with the package.

I think for everybody; seeing mat-the-jap during fresher week r whatnot and being told he's a normal/integral part of college life.

I concur - the way he looks at you... scary.

    You are Eoin right?

The 13-16 years olds are yeah. The younger kids have programmes all year round, also in DCU. There's also programmes for the younger kids in different venues around the country.

For some reason I think Matt may now be slightly afraid of me. mid way through last year he used him me in the ankles any chance he got - now he stands back to let me pass - odd....

I know, I was only joking. My school didn't tell us about it and I thought my girlfriend was saying she was sent to a "special" school during the summer when she told me about it first :D

Yeah I never heard about it till I was in college either. The kids all have a great time though, it's a fun place to work.

...your name's in the "Who's who?" thread. I know Hilary's a BESS girl, but all the same, give her some credit.

    My bad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,024 ✭✭✭Awayindahils

nah pet i i typed up my aplication form slowly and then spell checked it after someone saw my handwritten version and had a minor freakout at me.

and typing with ones feet? why its among the most useful of skills, actually if i could paint with my feet people would buy christmas cards and all sorts of junk off me

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,198 ✭✭✭✭Crash

And if you could write with your feet, people would make movies about you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,314 ✭✭✭Nietzschean

i'd love to be able to type with my feet, can operate more keyboards at once then, proper multitasking..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,135 ✭✭✭✭John

If you could operate a mouse too you could play Quake with yourself

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,314 ✭✭✭Nietzschean

well i'm pretty sure i could operate a joystick with my mouth, so thats hands against mouth + feet...think my hands might win..but then mouse does pwn joystick for fps games
