What to do?

    25 euro live MTT

    9 handed.
    Hero: 3,350 Villian: about 5,500
    Blinds: 50/100

Villian seems fairly loose passive. Enters a lot of pots if it hasn't already been raised, or only raised by a small amount.

I pick up Qc Qh in SB.
    7 limpers and I raise to 800.
BB calls and everyone else folds.

    Flop
    Ac Kh 10c

    chk, chk

    Turn
    Jc

    chk, villian raises 1000.

    What to do?

Should I have bet the flop? Was thinking afterwards I probably should have put a raise in there of about 700 - 1000 to see where I stood, but was worried about the two overcards.

Stick it all in . Are you afraid of the flush ? Think I could be missing something here.

    All-in.

You know you have a straight? and the 2nd nut flush draw? Depending on the player and how tight he is Id do one of two things, flat call or go all in. Absent of a read im probably pushing, he may well have a queen and you are freerolling him. (unless he has KcQ). On dry board with no redraw a flat call is probably better.

Yep, I was half afraid of the flush, couldn't see what he could have called the raise with pre flop to make it though. I go all in and he turns over Kc 9c and I'm gone. I couldn't see how he called this pre flop. At least I know now that other people would have went all in so I'm happy enough with the play.

I wouldn't worry about it. If you had bet the flop, even with the ace, he was probably calling anyway. Just ul.

Genuine question, just wondering if you should call with the straight knowing you could be beaten. And the answer is yes.

bman, not a lot you can do here, especially with your stack size. Raise pre-flop is ok with so many limpers, but it doesn't leave you much room to play on the flop. A flop bet is obviously better, but it means that you're getting short. Still, I think I bet 600/700, leaving you with about 18BBs which is ok if you decide to get out of the hand on the turn. If you bet that and he calls, you know you're probably behind, but once the J hits, you're going all the way with the hand. He's just as likely to have AT or KT/KJ as the flush. He played it bad but hit a monster flop.

Another thing, with a game as loose as this (7 limpers!!) I might just push pre-flop hoping to get called by a lower pair or Ax. If you dont get called, you pick up 800 in dead money, which is ok for QQ out of position.

BTW, please use "bet" for the first bet on the flop! One of my pet hates is players using "raise" for the first action. Drives me mental. :)

Motion seconded. When I occasionally point out 'it is a bet not a raise' I usually get blank looks.

Funniest thing I seen in a while though was last night Phil Taylor was in the UK Open (may have been british one, but you get the gist). He was first to act after the flop and he announced 'Call'. His opponent said 'You mean Check?' and Phil affirmed he did. He did the same thing on the river though :D

He should stick to the darts.

Similar scenario last nite in WSOP

I'm in BB and have KK
    Blinds 15/30

Bet of 120 with 4 callers maybe 5

I have 4.5k..easy CL at table

I push allin...takeout drawing hands, make it look like I don't really want a call with AQ/AJ/AK etc

Worked out perfect...1 caller for 2k...he had 77...no improvment...

Its an option...but I get stung so much by dodgy K9s callers I sometimes like the dead money

Easy all in. If you happen to be behind you have the flush draw to hit.

if your behind then you will either be drawing either dead or to 2 less outs than you might think
