Connection Troubles

I'm connected to the Internet through a Netopia 3347NWG wireless modem. It's tortuously slow. I should be on a 3 Meg line, but Firefox takes more than 10 seconds just "Looking up www.boards.ie". This happens with both IE and FF, wireless and wired. This is the second modem (same make) I've tried it with, same thing happened. The only other computer I've been able to check with worked fine wired. It was working fine a week ago when I was in DCU (behind a proxy).

After those lines it's just repeated timeouts. If anybody has any idea what's going on, it would be much appreciated if you replied ASAP

Like yourself I get occasional delays and timeouts with boards.ie but I am not using the same router as you and the issue is limited to boards.ie only so I assumed the server and numbers of users online (that there being too many for the server to cope with) at the time was the cause.

Do these extended connection periods and time outs happen with other sites as well or just boards.ie only and is it like this all the time with boards .ie ?

Maybe someone from the site's staff can shed some light
