Crap battery holders

I've had many appliances/gadgets go dead on me over the years. Lately I've noticed many aren't dead - just wiggle the batteries about and away it goes again.

This seems to be in the last 3-4 years.

It seems someone somewhere is making/has made millions of crap battery holders.

Have to wonder is this to order? E.g. "Our warranty is 2 years we would like the batch of 4 million battery holders to have an MTBF of 2.5 years" (i.e. they'll fail on average shortly after warranty)

    Anyone had similar experiences?

    Hee hee.:D

But seriously, OP, yes that has happened to me. Opening the appliance and swivelling the batteries a bit seems to work. I wouldn't get too bothered by it.
