as above, im not sure on the model (gf's laptop) but will find out tonight.
its the one with the almost square socket on the laptop as opposed to the newer circular one. by mums machine is about three years old and has the same connection, mine is two and doesn't.

so based on the ages 3+ years im hoping someone out there may have an old machine which is out of action but which has the same power plug??

sorry for vague details, will get all info when i go home.

I think all older Latitudes have this. I got an old one today, and it has that charger....shouldn't be too hard at all to find lots of chargers on ebay?

The one your looking for is a three pin connector, they have stopped making then with the newer models, I have a few lying around here - they tend to last a lot longer than the laptops themselves, my advice would be to bin it, those old lattitudes and optiplexs are like the new ones- ****e!
If it weren't for Dell and M$ the world of IT wouldn't have such a bad name. Bin the Dell and get a Fujitsu or HP- Sony if ye got big bucks. Stay away from Acer- they make baby Jesus cry:(
