[Request] Local Access Numbers for ISPs

I've signed up to talk talk which gives me free local calls. I was hoping to use an ISP with local access numbers (as opposed to the 1890/1891/1892 numbers). O2 did a service but stopped it. Oceanfree numbers don't appear to work (they say the number is invalid but I have a suspicion it could be to do with the fact talk talk numbers are never shown).

Does anyone know of any ISP that offers a pay as you go service using local access numbers? I'd be in the 021 area.

    Many thanks

Send a PM to Watty. He used the Tele2 trick for a while before he got BB or search the IrelandOffline and Broadband forums. He posted a list of numbers there before.

Use o2 as your isp. I am still using it. Local numbers nationwide.

Thats what I was intending to use but when I rang up O2 to get a username and password they said the service was stopped because of lack of demand.

Its unlike call centre employees to be misinformed ...

Is there a general username and password like iolfree or do you have your own specific account?

Have you got an o2 email address? If so use yourname@o2.ie as the username and your password as the password. I am still using it.

If nessasary buy an o2 sim pack and register an account there.

Indigo used 01 6047000 before the lo call number.. just called it and got a modem response...
as for username/pass i do not know of a default one. However since it was taken over by eircom.. the default eircomnet username and pass might work for you.

    Use elive

    http://www.elivefree.net/

but don't use the 1890 number,

use 021 2360018 (they used this number before changing to 1890 but it still works)

    user elive@elivefree.net

    Password elive

    Cheers everyone.

Got the O2 option working last night. Will check out elive at some stage if I need to but at least I won't be racking up a phone bill for internet access anymore.

You will still get charged even if you have local dial up.

I have free unlimited calls local and national with Euphoney.

I got a local dial up number for Navan and thought i would not get charged for the local number dial up due to free local calls.

Didnt work, looked at my last bill and saw all dial ups to local number were charged.

    Feck!

Were you by any chance on for more than an hour continuosly, you'd probably be charged for any excess over the hour.
