    hey,

I really hope someone can help me out here. I have a compaq laptop about 9 months old. Last night it was working perfectly.Today, itunes won't play, nor do i have sound for any programs or websites. the volume icon isn't displaying on the taskbar, and the sound, volume and mute smart keys aren't responding. went to sounds and devices in control panel and it won;t let me adjust anything, it says i have no audio devices.

does anyone know how/what happened? and more importantly what the hell can i do to fix this?

    Thanks

    A x

Stating versions of stuff helps a bit.

Quickest: Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System -> System Restore -> next.. click a date in bold 1 day+ ago and clock next...
This doesn't delete data, it simply undoes any system changes (May have to re-install hardware or software installed between that date and today...)

(Windows XP assumed - compaq, 9 months old...)
