Sky subscription - must they call ?

If I have existing sky equipment installed for FTA purposes,
and then wish to subscribe to sky, can I just call sky
with my cc details and get them to post out a viewing card?
Or must one of their technicians come around to my house,
and check the equipment ?
Reason for asking: I want Sky abroad.

No, they will not call. They will just send you out a contract which you sign and return it along with your CC or Bank details and then they send out the viewing card to you.

Yep they will mail you the contract, do ask if they have any special offers for resubscribing, you might get x amount of months at half price or something like that.

I dont think he is resubscribing. He mentions he only has the equipment for FTA purposes.

if you have not subscribed to sky before you should get them to call with your free digibox, believe me installer will; be ecstatic when you tell him no install is required.

Yup, go for the new install, subsidised box. Means you'll have spare box then for emergencies, and there can/will be hardware failures!

I have not subscribed before, I just got the dish/box myself,
which is installed abroad..
If the installer calls to my Irish address and sees there
is no dish I've heard he has to put up one, even if
I ask him not to.. ?

Also, do I not need to have the box connected to the phone line ?

Apologies on re reading I see its for use abroad, just go for the card option, sky will post it to you.
