    Hi lads any opinions on this? Aldi 42" plasma, €1499 on sale Thursday, I don't work for them just need to know is suitable for sky+hd.

    The resolution is good for XGA PC, not good for either Standard or HD TV.

    ALL 25 fps interlace except the 720p which is fps non-interlace.
    Common Standard Satellite or DVD
    720 x 576, 704 x 576, 544 x 576
    and 384 x 288 pixel doubled each way for display.

    HDTV
    1440 x 720p
    1920 x 1080i

    The plasma has to resample everything to 1024 x 768 progressive (Interlace to Progressive always loses quality). It is possible it is 60Hz / 60fps native refresh reducing quality further.

    We have a simlar spec plasma for adverts from PC, excellent for that, terrible TV pictures.
