If you don't have anything to do this weekend, you could do worse than take a trip down to the Duncannon Military History show. It's on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

The website http://www.waterfordmilitary.com/ has a .. disjointed advertisment for it. The short version is that inside the 16th century star-fort in Duncannon, there is a bewildering array of military history. From 9th century viking raiding parties to restored 1943 German Half Tracks (check out the video on http://www.battlegroupsouth.com), Napoleonic Red Coats to American Civil War militias. 15th English knights in full plate armour, to 1798 Irish farmers with pikes. It has everything.

I'll be there as an Irish Mercenary attached to a 12th century Norman Invasion force, camping for the weekend in skins & blankets.

    John
