    my laptop is full of viruses, and a load of things wrong with it. ive decided not to try and tackle all this and just reboot the whole thing. is there a way of completely wiping the whole hard drive, so as it is exactely as i got it when it was bought?

    Put in the boot disks you got with your laptop and boot from them which sends it back to day 1

    Use the cds supplied with your laptop (if you got any) otherwise use a bootdisk to get to the command prompt and format c:. Remember to keep any files you want of course and any drivers you havent got.
