Ok, was hoping that this might become a sticky. With all us young jetsetters (can't believe I said that), I really think that a thread dedicated just to bargains on flights etc would be a good idea. I know I would book on a Thursday and fly out on a Friday if a good deal came up, anything to get out of the country! So I for one would be on looking everyday. And of course would post whatever I found also.

Any good deals at the moment?!

Edit: Ok, I like a joke as good as the rest of you! But come on, less support - more bargains!!!

Heard this morning that Delta are now flying Dublin-Shannon-JFK
    Just checked a few prices...
    seem very reasonable...
    1. example
Dublin, Ireland (DUB) to New York-Kennedy, NY (JFK) on Wed, 23 Aug 2006
New York-Kennedy, NY (JFK) to Dublin, Ireland (DUB) on Wed, 30 Aug 2006
    Price, inclu. taxes: 330euro

    With Aerlingus:
    527euro, inlcuding taxes...

Now the taxes for the Delta flight seem very cheap so some more investigation needs to be done to confirm low price, but looking good.

    Just checked Delta T&C's closer,
SURCHARGES ORIG NYC 40.00 USD MISC/OTHER PER DIRECTION
    ORIG IRELAND
    35.00 EUR MISC/OTHER PER DIRECTION
    TRANSATLANTIC SECTOR
FURTHER RESTR APPLY SEE TEXT RULE

Would like to follow through and see the ACTUAL price one would pay... any volunteer to do this? ;)

I went all the way through this, as far as actually paying for the ticket, and it still says

When do they tack on the extra charges?
    :)

Just booked a return flight with Delta from Dublin to JFK (no stop-overs) for €330 including taxes and fuel surcharges. It seems to be from the last week in August onwards.

Bloody bargain if I've ever seen one! The next cheapest is €420 via Paris with Air France & Aer Lingus are somewhere in the region of €530 for the same period.

    Guys,

Can you tell me any good sites to find cheap flights to Malaga - asides from the obvious (ryanair and aerlingus)?

    thanks,

    Jo.

Here are two places I came across recently

For car hire, I found travelsupermarket.com to be excellent - better than holidayautos which I previously thought was unbeatable. Its effectively a price comparision site but for some reason it seems to have access to be better rates than the sites themselves for some searches. In particular it came up with great prices on a people carrier for Spain.

The other site is http://www.skyscanner.net/ - this is another price comparision site but with a twist. It allows you to do time based searches, which is something I have always wanted. Have a free weekend, want to go somewhere in Europe, not bothered where? This is the site for you... As with all of these scanner type sites, the price data can be a bit stale, but even to see who flys where on that weekend its cool.
