How bad is my play here. Villain is "average" I'm certain he's not calling me preflop with 7-x and is reraising with an overpir and AK.

BTW the FTR convertor is a bit buggy and doesn't show te villains bet on te river.

meh, not a good spot to be in. I cant put him on a hand really. The bet on the turn is odd by him. If he has QQ/TT why bet the turn then push the river. The bet seems to big for an average player with 99 or 55. Once you call the turn you are committed no matter what drops on the river, and since he isnt going to ever fold a wose hand I think check calling is good. I wouldnt rule out a 7.

I wonder is bet turn superior to check/call?
At 1/2 opponents dont tend to be aggro enough to rely on them to bet 44 here when you check.

Tough spot, your line seems ok, but I dont see how your hand is good, as there isnt much to bluff at.

Once I got called on the flop I didn't really know what the hell he had. He hadn't really gotten out of line at the table and seemed an ok tightish player. Either he was mixing it up with a hand like 78 or had he had nothing at all although 88-TT was possible too. The other scenario of course was he was calling to try and get me off the hand on the turn, whcih was the conclusion I drew after his large bet. I'm not sure if I should have pushed at that point but I felt he does have 88-TT or X-X then I have more to gain for check calling the river also so that's what I did. As it turned out he had A-Qo.
