I hate doing new threads cos everyone thinks you have a sure thing. I don't - I'm just following up on a horse I've put up a few times...

Trikirk runs in the first race tomorrow in the Curragh. Ideally he wants good ground (nice bit of cut, not a bog) over 12 furlongs. He ran well over two miles last time out in Clonmel (finish 5th) but the track didn't really suit him as much as the Curragh will. He's a big galloping type so the Curragh should be ideal.

27 runner hcp (AKA cavalry charge) - so lots have chances, but at 10/1ish I'll give it a go. Not a race to go mad in.

In the 2000 gns I'm going to back Araafa e/w. I backed him at huge prices for the English gns and was hoping for a place. He finished 4th after a great run in the last furlong or so after being out of it completely in the early stages.
    Might do a GW/Arafa forecast.

What are the rest of ye backing in the Guineas ?

Re The Curragh. Its lashing rain again there (Sat mor) so factor that into your betting as I'd say it will be pretty soft there today.

Living on edge of the curragh - ground is a quagmire. Sun is shining now though!

I think GW is as near to a dead cert as you can get for this. I put it in as part of a treble. I think Hurricane Cat to be placed at 2.52 is alright. Not great, just alright.

Jupon Vert and First Down Jets both look to have solid claims today at Stratford. I didn't get to post here on time about Angus Newz today and it's just as well :)

EDIT: Bollin Michael is running in the 4.15 at Haydock and can win. Very respectable run last time, and today's ground will suit it as well.

glad a few of you backed Araafa. I seemed to be the only one cheering it on in the stands. I love it when a horse you follow comes good in the end !
Managed to get 14/1 on course so was up a nice few quid.

I did a €10 straight forecast on George Washington to beat Araafa cos I reckoned that would be the only horse to beat him. Raging I didn't do the reverse f/c. It paid €122 !!!

Was unlucky enough with Trikirk (got 14s also) - beaten by a short head. Keep him in your tracker, he's sure to win a few in the future !

Well done Scargill, there are a couple of people on this forum who are very quick to congratulate themselves when they pull out a winner but fall short when it comes to congratulating others.

Has been a good day for ya...well done!

Ref the 2000 Guineas, Horse was good enough to win it, Jockey (on this occasion) wasnt. Fallon left the horse with too much to do by not getting GW closer to teh pace. With a large field and soft ground (not even with the best horse in the world) will close down/quicken on the leader half as fast as u can in good/firm ground. He put in a zig zag ride to get thru a wall of horses (duh) had to go out to come back in get a clear line.
    poor.

Well done scargill for tip and description of choice, dont be afraid to post yur expert analysis m8. Im only sry i didnt log on this morn and see this. :(

Had Knife Edge and Stath Gland later on :) Bollin Michael/thomas never picked up for Jamie Spencer. Will be watching Trikirk seems to have potential.

so it was worth your while starting the thread then?
had 2euro each way on araafa thanks to your post.. winner/winner..
    14/1 winner can't be overlooked..
it's a rare man to tip a winner on this forum never mind having to come back and have to put up with the congatulations.. (finnpark?!) cheers scargill

I suppose to be fair to Fallon he just wanted to keep GW covered up for as long as possible. Munro seemed to take advantage of that by going early.

Fallon didn't seem to have any problem in understanding the advantage of an early lead in those conditions in the previous race on Moss Vale. (A sprint - started by tape by the way!!! why in the name of God did that happen ?)

Thanks Scargill, nearly crashed the car listening to the race on radio (Tririk) - your info was spot on. Was on EW:)
