Did you notice the small things happening like later on in the game your player is unsteady and moving about a lot more and small graphical changes like sweat appearing on your top.

Wow the difficulty really ramps up a bit during the last few games of the rookie tournament, Juergen is a nightmare to play against, ditto for Kumi

I'm using Luing Pi (or whatever his name is)

Had a 60 shot rally in one of the games, really intense

I am considering getting it purely for laughs. Rally's are supposed to be killer.

Definitly, if you have friends over regularly for drinks before goin out or anything (depending on what age you are) this game is a great laugh! Well worth the 40 or so yoyos!

Just saw it in xtra visoin earlier on and was thinking if getting it till i saw the sticker price of €50. Whats happening to xtra vision games they used to be quite competative.

hmv , virgin and game all had it for €50 though , surprise surprise :rolleyes: .

I'm doing my review at the moment and while I think it's well worth the 40 euro, I can't help thinking it's a bit of a novelty game. The lack of a Career mode definitely is noticeable and I think the fuss which has been generated is a tad over the top.

Yes, its a great game with tremendous graphics but it's still limited in gameplay options (what happened to doubles?) and I can't help feeling that I'd much prefer to be playing Virtua Tennis.

I' ll be giving it 8/10.

Is it any good in single player, out here in the sticks with no local mates who play and no broadband, so should I pick it up? I have a copy of oblivion to get shot of in my nearest gamestop so is it worth it?

It's bloody hard when you get to Pro. But yeah it's enjoyable

The single player mode is very limited but it is a good game.

If I was you I'd wait and pick up a cheap copy second hand. The novelty will wear off after a while and alot of people will be selling their copies.

got this game yesterday...traded in my amped 3 and got 40euros for it lol... only paid an extra 10er for this game well worth the trade in if you got amped off play.com..tournaments dont seem to be that long...

Xtra vision give 40 euro trade for all xbox 360 games right now..

but 30 euro cash in hand.

Traded games can be bought in gamestop for 40, so I buy em there and trade em in at work when im done for 40 quid off a new one. :P

How are people getting on with the different characters?

I seem to find Jesper can beat anyone else, no matter who is controlling them. His reach combined with his power are too unbalanced.

It's fine at home, we just rotate characters anyway, but I've found in every online match I've played(ok so thats only 3 or 4), my opponent has picked Jesper and so have I.

It's still a fantastic game and Jesper v Jesper is fine, I'd like to see them change the balance a little in a patch though to make more variety in character selection a bit more viable.

I don't mind when people pick Jesper, he's got some weaknesses of his own

If you counter his power shots with focus shots using the right bumper he's got nothing

I love Table Tennis!! Can't see Gears of War being better unless they introduce a Table Tennis tournament to it.

I just got this game yesterday and was playing it for hours last night. I was losing quite badly, and then things just "clicked" for me, and started winning games quite easily playing as Jesper. I love the game, the sound and graphics are incredible, and the gameplay is intense - especially when you get into a rally. Heading to my mates for the weekend for some two player fun, can't wait. DAMN WORK!!
