Due to my other half dropping our last camera a couple of weeks ago I am looking for a new one.I am not really into cameras and the selection is huge so can you guys recommend me one around the 200 price range,I know 200 is not much but the camera is just for taken photos of the kids etc etc.

    So what would you recommend...?

I have been looking at the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W30 6MP or the Canon PowerShot A530, 5.0MP,But I am open to suggestions.

hummm this hasnt been answered yet so i'll give it a stab.

200 euro hummm maybe look into second hand as IMO 200 euro is gonna make it tough the old canon ixus i camera is down very cheap, takes good shots. i really can't think of any others off hand i'd reccommend.

I would definitely recommend th Coolpix range from Nikon, they're dead-easy to use and fairly shock-proof - I'm not afraid to take it hill-walking or to hand it over to my mum - who broke my last camera, a Canon... They also allow you to record sound and video, which is cool when you have kids - I don't but anyone looking for a baby-sitter, I'm in :)

I will look into the Nikon Coolpix, thanks.

The reason my budget is only 200 is the last camera I got I paid around 800 for and looking back it was major over kill as I really only need to take the odd pic here and there, also the other half has a tendency to drop things.
