Recommend dual vga output graphics card

    Hi All,

    Looking for recommendations for a graphics that will have dual vga outputs so I can use Windows XP and use 2 monitors. It needs to fit an IBM ThinkCentre S51 so needs to fit a PCI small form factor case.

    Trying to find SFF size PCI cards might not be easy. You may be better off getting two second-hand graphics cards - any lame old 8-16MB card will be fine for normal desktop stuff unless you're going into crazy resolutions, and they'll be more likely to fit - you me even be able to get away buying full-size old gfx cards and just cutting/removing the back plate.

    Will 2 cards work though. I though you could only use one. I know that if you plug in a single one the onboard will be disabled.

    It *should* work *in theory*. Windows has support for a pretty large amount of video adaptors, and I have a friend using XP with an AGP card and a PCI card with the desktop shared between the two outputs.

    Some BIOSes even allow the onboard graphics to be used in conjunction with a graphics card too.
