I just figured out how to shuffle chips yesterday and ive been sitting at my computer with a stack of €2 coins shuffling them for the past hour++ while surfin the net. It just feels so good when you get a large stack shuffled equally.

If you play poker regularly though watch out as at one stage I had a constant pain in my little finger on my right hand from shuffling chips, and I still could not stop. My self diagnosis is RSI and being the qualified medical professional* that I am, I have full confidence this is the right diagnosis.

Also it is a growing addiction. First I was happy with 4 dhips either side, then 5, then 6. Now it has to be at least 8 each side (sometimes even 10!!!) if I am to be satisfied from my chip shuffling session.

    I need help :(

    * I watch scrubs and have seen diagnosis murder. Surely that qualifies me?

yeah it's ridiculously addictive. When i was studying for my finals last year, i used to shuffle consistently while reading.
I think it adversely affects my playing as i get too calm from shuffling chips and don't pay attention enough.
I also self diagnosed myself with rsi when my whole hand started hurting really badly.

Sadly its a skill I have never been able to acquire. I have never made a determined attempt to pick it up, but have made a few half arsed attempts:)

The last time I tried shuffling, some of my stack ended up with my neighbour's. He'd just raked in a huge pot and was gathering up his chips when a few of mine fell into his stack. There was some... unpleasantness. I haven't tried since.

If you find yourself getting pains in one wrist (as I did at one point) you could do worse than learn to shuffle with the other hand for a bit.

I am up to 7 each side with my left hand now :D

It is not near as reliable as old righty yet though but is coming along nicely.

Be careful about giving off tells though. After a while someone noticed that when I was shuffling with my left hand that it meant that my right wrist was sore. I'm trying to mix it up a bit and also do it when my right wrist is fine so as not to give away free information but it's not easy to break a natural impulse.

very true.if someone knows my wrist (or pinky in my case) is aching they could use this against me. You aren't an admin for nothing you know!!!

It is an addiction, I'm a complusive fidgeter, anything I can get my hands on, when writing I spin the pen around my thumb, or sit there messing with my hair.
So chips got me hooked. Started off with 3 each side, and worked up to 10ish. But like doing 4 each side two colours the most, do it without any effort and like the way they alternate colours then change back with 3 shuffles.
Do a other chip "tricks" too, flicking three over each other thumb, rolling out the middle chip and spining it.
    Can't stop.

Seen a video on the net of a guy shuffling three stacks together.

if u don't have the right chips to play with trying to riffle 10+ can horribly backfire and make u look like a tool. i find the fitz singles to be the best, not too heavy and not too sticky. i think i can go about 11/11 on my left and 7/7 on my right with them.
