We have neighbours here that could ask us for anything!
Like today it was toilet roll, last week it was tomato ketchup we also give them a loan of our DVD player some weekends.its kinda both ways as we borrow stuff off them too but things like sugar or milk
so what do you borrow from your neighbours?

Are you planning to give them back their toilet paper when you're finished?

I wish I had neighbours like that. Everybody needs good neighbours. With a little understanding. You can find the perfect blend.

I wouldn't lend or borrow from either of my neighbours,on one side i have the crankist, nosyist and generally bad tempered feckers you could ever meet and on the other people who seem nice, have nice well behaved kids and dont make noise, but we just haven't clicked.Probably my fault, the people before them had junky sons and would take offence if you didn't say good morning, I tend to keep to myself now.

Haven't borrowed anything, but I have wonderful neighbours.
My neighbour went up to Aldi for me yesterday and got me a hedge trimmer as I was working and he's on nights. He did this cos he knew they would be all sold by the time I got there. A little star.

Last thing I borrowed off them was a potato masher. Before that it was decks and an amp for a houseparty.

As for them from me, the last thing was a bicycle pump. Before that it was a bicycle pump.

milk usually, the shop is juat around the corner so we usualy get any thing we run out of there.

we do have a very strange lady living 2 doors down, about once a week, we would hear our front door opening and then closing, when go out to the door there is a fruit cake on the ground , just inside the front door.....she never says anything, it took us weeks to find out it was her.......

maybe she thinks we are hungry...i dunno, its certainly strange though.

Was cutting the hedge a while ago and cut through the wire of our cutter thing. Then went and borrowed the neighbour's and the exact same thing happened.
Then had to peg it up to B&Q to buy them a new one. Haven't borrowed anything since. :p

sorry, should have mentioned, i live in a small estate, where every knows everyone, keys are usually left in the front door. friends dont knock at our door, they just enter and search the house till they find who they are looking for, stopping off in the various rooms for wee chats on the way.

but yes, that woman is wierd, especially seeing as none of us eat the horrible bread. but she would seriously start crying if we told her we dont eat it.

Seriously though, what if you "up to something" in the front parlour? Bit wierd me all the same.

Anywho, off the neighbours I've borrowed a wheelbarrow. they've borrowed a corkscrew.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,239 ✭✭✭Gilgamesh

don't have neighbours next to me, only under me and they are scared of me, so didn't really borrow anything form them
