    Attention Soldiers and Server Admins!

After a thorough investigation into the issues plaguing the server browser after the 1.3 Update, we believe that a last minute update in the way the Battlefield servers and Gamespy servers communicate may be the cause.

We have decided to revert this change in an attempt eliminate these browser issues. Please note that no uninstalling or re-installing is required by players or server admins. All servers currently running must be restarted once this change has taken place.

Please also note that if you are experiencing CTD issues upon start up that any alternate-ranking redirections in your windows "Hosts" file must be removed.

The reversion will occur at 2:00 PST. We are continuing to review other issues players have noted with 1.3. Further updates will be posted to this space as they become available."

    Thank you,
/The team at Dice and EA

Well at least they are listening to the reports the players are giving. When is 2:00 PST has it happened already?

Honestly, how difficult IS it to put out a working patch? Vietnam never had these problems, steam updates dont cause these problems, WOW patches never caused these problems, so wtf are EA doing that EVERY SINGLE PATCH so far for bf2 had bunched somethin up?? Honestly do they have a bunch of f*ckin lobotomised chimps makin them or somethin?
Its sad to admit that a patch that 'only' fecked up the server browser and 'only' causes a few more CTD's than usual is regarded as one of EA's better patches

its because they are trying to tactal to many problems/issuses in ever patch update, for example they are trying to fix 15 issuses in the next patch, if they tactual say 10 issues then they have more time to check them and make sure they dont cause other unseen issuses where as what they are currently doing is trying to sort out all the problems at once and when they do they come up with other problems but dont have time to sort them or dont find them till its released!! SLOW DOWN EA/Dice!!

One wonders if they even check the simple things whilst trying out the new patches ???

How could someone not notice the lack of browser compatibility or the fact that the in-game browser didn't work ??

Pretty impossible to test really. They would have to have over 30 servers worldwide in a giant VLAN or connected to a different master server.

If they useded 30 machines in the same Lab then the pings would never change so they would never come across the problem.

all the same it has gone though about a month of limited testing these kinds of issues should have been picked up my god think of the issues they did pick up while testing i could imagine a beta testers email to one of the tech heads

"amm yeah i shot the dude and he didnt die and so like i was caping a base with a team mate and the flag went down really slow and there was this commander dropping arti on us but it missed and then a tank shot us and later a sniper killed me when i was looking at the wall i was in the open but i couldnt see him an stuff so like you should remove snipers cause its unfair an stuff"

my impression of the ea/dice 12 year old beta testers used for bf2 patches
( please dear god let me be wrong with this one )
