I doubt it tbh. You say 'now', were you viewing the property when you got the ticket ? :/

No, you need to have a resident permit even if you're a resident, so I doubt they'd even consider dropping it.

    If there's a management company involved - inquire about the next residents meeting - try to talk your way up from the engineers rag to the engineer on the phone - sound enthusiastic; you really want to be part of the residents committee and have experience in this- increasing value of property through contacts;

(Only if you can at least get a mate in a vendor company to back you up with a non-commital telephone "confirmation" - e.g. "Yes we anticipate broadband on 25/06 - which is the day after delivery of our new switch hardware - but I'd have to check with my boss when a penalty clause applies if the vendors don't deliver on time - let me take your number and get back to you?" <never does>)

Basically get contacts in the management company and there is potential there to reverse this if they are small enough without bull****. The bigger they are the more noise and bull**** you will have to create.

Just be creative - not destructive.

In principal you should not pay this - but life often sucks.

im in the city now sully, um i appealed the fine but the lady at the desk who in fairness was queit sound and all basically said there wasnt a chance of it being dropped, she said the law is black and white and if i park there regardless weather its outside my house or not if i dont have a permit or disc then i will be fined, just very annoyed about the whole incident, when renting a house the landlord should have already made provisions for either a temporary permit or something.

as far as I know, to get a residents permit, the car must be registered to that address.. so if your tax and insurance goes to your home address and you rent somwhere else, then you don't get a permit... now I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure...

THis is exactley why things in ireland cost so much to run. People adding unnessaary expence to everything chancing their arm or trying to screw the system. The reason fines go up.

The fine is for not displaying a residents parking sticker while parked in a residents spot not just parking, you are guilty accept the fine.

The suggest the landlord should do it shows your ignorance. Only residents can get the permits. Unless the landlord lives there and has the same name as you it isn't possible or his responsibility.

The post colonial hang-up of trying to screw the system should go as you are trying to screw the irish people now and should cop on.

    Buy parking ticket?

    Live somewhere with private parking?

Apply early to the council and ask for a week's supply of visitors parking tickets?

Change your address on your car registeration cert.

    Easily done - www.newaddress.ie

Then get your motor tax office to issue you with a Vechicle Inquiry form

    Get your residents Parking Disc.

    Appeal Fine.

On second toughts - don't bother with www.newaddress.ie.

Take your registeration cert to your motor tax office & get Vechicle Inquiry form

    Get your residents Parking Disc.

    Appeal Fine.

Cork is correct iirc. You car needs to be registered at an address before you can get a residents parking disc. Or so I've heard a few times...
