maybe tig have finally packed in bf2? fairy himself said not many members play it, cant be cheap to keep 3 ranked servers sittin empty all the time

well our server is a little tits up atm also cause of the new patch we are waiting to get it sorted should be done soon.

Aye servers closed down as no one was using them. We dont have enough active BF2 players at the moment to justify having 3 servers operating. Though maintaining them doesnt take much time it still has to be done.

I've installed mods etc in the hope that that might interest the commuity but it didnt happen. They can be ressurected if need be, or a bfv/42/dc or even dod:s server can be up and running in mins as all the server software is installed, but no point if there are no players.

Dignitas have developed a new inf mod, similar to what I had set up on our servers earlier.

I have restarted 2 of our servers with this mod. You can get it from http://www.team-dignitas.org/bf2max/ Its fairly small.

Quake went the same way
not even 6 months into the game and already the game was divided into different mods splitting the community.
anoying the hell out of me and changing the game slightly enough to make it seem that 200 hours of playing experience out the window(still prefer the first patch had problems ever since then) .
So now we have empty servers everywhere and the only 64 full ones have either 125+ ping or spikes of lag or lost connections every hour or so .
In saying that i enjoyed the few mins playing i got on the irish server with the tig & others during the week, gg's hopefully this will be a usual event and i can check out what ip is being played on the night before i fire up my dogey gamespy and bf2 multiplayer list

Well I agree that BF2 has divided the community, especially the clans from the public players. I made an argument some time ago that unless EA started supporting the clans the whole community would suffer.

Without clans to pay for the servers there would be few if any decent servers, but I got flamed.

Anyways, all people have to do is meet on #battlefield.ie and pick a server.

Hey, the mod goes in c:/programme files/ea games/bf2/mods/ etc, as long as you unzip it into your mods folder it'll work fine.

Well this proposed BFV night that the tig lads have it a good idea and I would be on nut have a match that night. Also a few of us at 1st-IB have gotten back into 1942:DC great game the origanal BF2 really. After the BFV night how about a DC night also, id be game for sure.

bleh muilty game clan's are the suck they lose all sence of friendship as not many member's play the same game but TIG was teh win dureing the vietnam day's so many good game's and memory's

Dataisgod was a very good player and helped run the clan very well Imho TIG quickly spireling into crapness when he was sucked into wow and the likes of devilmonkey stoped bothering it was never ending competative game's with no fun for me anyway at that point.

Guess the total let down that was bf 2 didnt help either

Umm generally when played right Bf2 rocks, because certain people in certain clans feel otherwise doenst make it not rock.

Fair enough rankings ruin the game to me they discourage mods more so the reason to play them (most BF players played DC 1st) but you cannot deny Bf2 its right as a ****ing cracking game when played with good like minded players, i betad Bf42 and have loved the games since and Bf2 is the pinnacle.

People will have gripes about games CS is a million years old now and runs on gameboys but the idea of the game remains but most who play still have issues with it, bf2 is no different. it has issues but the complete war idea remains intact its a online vehicle based fps with up to 64 players.


This week i played Bf2 every night with boardsies(tig Nrg Btc Ascii and wavey) and every game i played was excellent i havent played for 2 months but this week it was excellent, likeminded players playing the game the way it should be reminded me why i love it.

Aye i gotta agree with kdjac here, i was hugely vocal in my opposition to bf2 and its crappiness at first, but the more i play it the more i get into it and forget about the rankings, crap patches etc. Had some really great games lately and the clan matches weve had the last few weeks are nothing short of nerve shredding, really great games. Once you get past all the bull, BF2 is a really class game, im just glad none of nrg got sucked into wow, cause weve got some really class players that constantly make ya want to play more just to beat the f*ckers! EVD-Burner and Scrapper spring to mind :rolleyes:

PC version is multiplayer team game, maybe yas should take that up

i'm sure tig will be about for a while yet, while we may not have an active 8v8 clanbase team, i'm fairly certain that if there was another boards.ie league or whatever we would be in like flynn, and we still have some excellent players still active. We have been active for over 2 years now (I think) and it was always on the cards that players would tire somewhat, but we are far from a dead clan.

theres a whole bagful i still don't like about the game, the unlock crutch, commanders, arty but i like nothing more than to get down to some hardcore inf action - then again im used to old times in bf42 & nam where none of that crap existed.

Also, theres a great inf mod released, bf2max that has some nice modded maps and a completely new one. http://www.team-dignitas.org/bf2max/index.html. Any player worth his salt wil grab it, we will have a server running it.

Well tbh i hated commanders and stuff myself until i saw it in action in clan games. Absolutely brilliant, adds so much strategy to clan games, but does lead to a headache in pub games with you own commander srtying you :rolleyes:

I was out on the drink tonight,i pulled a blonde a brunette ,jessica alba emma bunton cat deeley loads of chicks.... i wipped out my wang and lead them back too my house like the pipped piper and just after i done my dirty stuff with stacks of muff ....i went on bf2 and played loads of maps on the tig server.... The Servers are still there ....only you cant see them
