1st level Blinds 20/40, 3rd hand, so stacks are pretty much even (2000) and no reads.


UTG minraises. Called by UTG+3. I raise to 300 in mp with JJ and both call.

Flop 69Tr. UTG leads for 160, UTG+3 pushes immediately.

What now?

I call. MTT I fold. Chance to take out 2 players and triple up in an STT is worth the call for me....this is my strategy and some may disagree i'm sure. In my experience 10 10 & 99 come back over the top in STT. UTG seems obviously weak betting 160 into a 900 pot. UTG may sense this and riase may be a direct result. A10 is logical enough to me. 78?? I don't think so, 66?? Maybe( but not enough for me to lay down). I put UTG on anything from J10 to AQ, but no pair and have UTG+3 on A10.

Outcome please?

Well, I was worried about set due to the limp calling so I reluctantly folded. I was then disgusted when UTG called with no less than K3o and UTG+3 had QJo. Shudder
