Has anyone heard of an underarm spray that will stop perspiration for a day, like a seal not a deoderant?

It would be unhealthy to do so!

You're looking for an antiperspirant presumably. As far as I know available from most shops (Tesco/boots/etc.) - just look at the small print, it'll say antiperspirant instead of deoderant

let me try and explain... antiperspirant / deoderants (do know the difference) work fine in normal situations but you know the days that are exciting / stressfull or whatever like the build up to a wedding or a hot date and no matter what you spary on just doesnt seem to work!

I sweat a lot and tried various anti-perspirant sprays which were all useless. But lately I've started using Sure (Sensitive) for men roll-on and I find it great. I tried their spray before and it was crap so give the roll-on a go.

AFAIK, only long term method is botox injections...all the rage with celebs apparently. Otherwise, why can you not reapply ordinary stuff throughout the day, and bring some deodorant / anti-perspirant wipes with you for that day / date /whatever

There is a roll-on you buy from the chemist called 'Anhydrol Forte'. It lasts ages, and I think it cost about 7ish euro. I'm pretty sure you can have it for daily use, but I only use it around period time when your body temp raises a little. I asked in Boots for the best on the market (that includes dricolor), and she gave me that. You use it at night before bed, wash it off in the morning, and apply your usual deoderant during the day.

I find it very good, but give a day or two to see results.

You can get prescription or specialist antipersperants that are supposed to be heavy duty. I didnt find them to be of great effectivness, and haven't used them in years. One cavet though: all antpersperents contain aluminum and zirconium - especially in the specialist ones. There are conflicting beliefs, but some research concludes that this stuff is terribly bad for you and, in some cases, may be responsible for cancers and alzheimers. Personally, i wouldn't go near a product like that ever again.

Very effective, but stings like hell when first applied.

Your body will adapt though, and you'll sweat in other places if needs be.

Yeah, I found it stung a little at first, but not painful or anything. It only felt like that for the first couple of times. Definitely worth trying. :)

I used Driclor after reading a thread on here before and although it was effective, the feckin thing stung my armpits out of it. I had to stop using altogether. For some reason now, I don't sweat as much but the skin is more sensitive there. It probably fried my sweat glands off!!

Someone suggested this before and looks good, http://www.crystaldeodorantprotection.com/ Haven't tried it myself but at least it's natural.

Personally I cant use any type of antiperspirant. Only deoderants. Anything else blocks my sweat glands and irritates my skin. Be careful.

I have tried them all and this is definitely most effective in stopping under-arm sweating(does sting like a bitch for about 10minutes when you put it on first )

Lady Mitchum " so effective you can skip a day.."

Get it in Boots, works a treat.

Had the exact same problem myself, except i had a severe problem with my sweat glands (particularly under arms)

After about a year of having to change my tshirts twice a day (if not more), finally found Triple Dry. It's a roll on that you put on (at most) 3 times a week and it works brilliantly, never looked back since.

    about €12 from boots.

ps. oh and it's NOT damaging to you at all, as it simply redirects the sweat to other ways of being released.

Diddo on the driclor... use it only once every 3-4 WEEKS!! i've been using it for years as i used to sweat alot, even when i was sitting down!!

when you get it first, you used it for the first couple of nights (you apply at night, and wash off in the morning!) and after that once every couple of weeks. me, now i used it about once a month, maybe less!!

Thanks to all the above for the advise, went out and bought the Driclor and oh boy it stings when you put it on first!! Really worked for me and i only put it on 3 times.

oops, forgot to mention the stinging thing. yeah it does that the first few times, but after that, it's fine. it's well worth it. i'm glad it's working for you. it was/is a god send, espically coming up to ocasions (job interviews, dates, weddings, etc.)
its not expensive, less than 7euros if i remember correctly and lasts ages as you only used it every now and then after the first few applications.

Seeing as we are talking about sweating I find recently that I have started to sweat alot more!!

I find if I am out in a restaurant I can start sweating while I am eating, I am carrying more weight then I should but is there anything you can take to help stop the sweating?? All the above items are more for armpits etc

I've just started to used Anhydrol Forte (recommended by my doctor). The first two nights I used it, it stung/itched like hell...and not just initially, it was stinging for a couple of hours and possibly more but I'd fallen asleep at that point.

It is definitely keeping the excessive sweating at bay which is great but not enjoying the stinging and sensitive underarms. It really seems to have dried out my skin a lot. I keep applying moisturiser which has helped but it's still irritated.

Used the Anhydrol Forte again last night (had taken a break of 3 nights) and yes it stung again. Not as severly but still for an equally long time. Does this eventually calm down?

    Mitchum. Best. Ever.

You can buy it at Tesco.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitchum

It is/was really popular with models and rockstars, anyone who has to work under hot lights.

personally, I had a really bad B.O. problem, I'd have to shower at least twice a day. With Mitchum all that got sorted.

it's available for men and women.

I would still standby Driclor for under the arms, you can buy it off ebay for €25-€30 for 3 large bottles (60ml). It beats the €9 for a 25ml bottle you have to pay in Boots here!

I find it only stings if I wake up in the first hour of having it on me!

I found Mitchum absolutely useless, that's why I've switched to the Anhydrol Forte stuff.

I guess it really depends on the person if these things will work for them
