Ipod mini funky sounding - please help

My ipod mini just stopped working, kinda. It plays songs but the sound is bad. It seems like the audio channels are messed up but you can still hear the vocals in most songs. A reflash didn't help. Wud rockbox or iPodLinux play songs good or would it be hardware? It doesn't appear to be the audio jack as "jiggling it"…

It plays songs but the sound is bad. It seems like the audio channels are messed up but you can still hear the vocals in most songs. A reflash didn't help. Wud rockbox or iPodLinux play songs good or would it be hardware? It doesn't appear to be the audio jack as "jiggling it" doesn't work.

Cant really offer much help, is it under guarentee?

Did you try update software(it worked on my Dad's iPod a while back , dunno what was wrong with it but this sounds similar)
