I know its 567 KHz but my radio just will not pick it up!! I have an FM aerial for the radio, could that be affecting it?

    Type/make of radio? Car radio?

FM aerials and MW aerials are different, insofar as MW are really wire wound irons bars inside the device, FM aerials are rod extendable devices external, and they shouldnt interfere with each other.

its a Philips hifi, about 10 years old I think, even with the FM aerial out i cant get anything on MW or LW.

Most hi-fi's had a seperate loop-aerial for MW and LW. Basically a square loop with wire twisted around it, with 2 wires to be fed into the HiFi

Check back of hifi and make sure there isn't a place for an external AM aerial to go

You may have lost the ferrite ring that comes with hifi stereos for MW reception. They sit outside the hifi itself...

I'll get a pic of mine in a min.

EDIT: and here's only I took earlier...
