    Samll stakes holdem cash games.

One thing that im not really sure about is what to do when I have absolute crap in the sb but im getting brill odds.

Example, I have something like 92o or Q5o in the sb in a 6 max game and there are 3 limpers before me. So the pot is offering me like 9 - 1. should I complete if I think the bb is gonna check. I know I am way out of position with junk but should I be laying down odds of 9-1. If i flop 2 pair or trips im gonna take down a good few pots but I dont know if this is +ev or -ev.

    Thanks

    J:)

Complete, but dont try and play a big pot when it hasnt been raised pre flop and you hold two pair, be prepared to give up to too much resistance.

The worse the players are, and the better you are, the more you should be inclined to play.

I normally fold them. I'm not sure if it's +EV or -EV, I think it's pretty close to neutral, so to save me the time I just fold them and go back to surfing the web. What are the odds of flopping 2-pair or better, 30 to 1 or something?

the key thing here is position and you have none in the sb so fold you hit a monster you wont get paid and you get stacked against a better hand (better two pair)
    lay it down louie

Unless you play better than most of your opponents postflop, completing with rags is definitely -EV IMHO. I'll rarely complete with garbage.

    According to this site

Two pair (using both of your pocket cards) from two non-pair cards - 49/1
Any two pair from two non-pair cards - 24/1
Trips (using one of your pocket cards) from two non-pair cards - 73/1

which is roughly (according to Google calculator) 13/1. So you may not get great odds, but fantastic implied odds, if you can lay down your cards when you don't hit.

Since its a limped pot you have crappy implied odds ... not fantastic implied odds.

Oops, you're dead right. I was assuming that there would be quite a bit of betting post flop (why, I don't know).

    dexem your theory is flawed
you are counting the odds from scenario 1 of two pair using both cards in your odds of hitting two pair using 1 or two cards

Your implied odds only works if somebody else has a hand and has a hand worse than yours

again i think you get "Fantastic " action here you are beat

we are also relying on BB not to raise
