It'd be an understatement to say i'm really looking forward to this...

Apparently, it'll be back on our screens in October anyways.

Oh and cheers to weemcd for making the "IRL" discussion thread this week. Had my last exam yesterday so i was busy cramming. Now i'm free... my year was so intensive that it feels so weird to actually have nothing to do.

    Anyways, enjoy it all!

That was amazing! Anyone know where to get a HDTV clip of the last 2 minutes? I bet there's quite a few secrets in there.

just watched it and i agree with you Acous though about the last two minutes. it leads to a whole bigger picture.
The flow of the episode was excellent. even the backstory tied in perfectly to the episode/
I like the tie in on
    how the plane crashed.

dont want to get into too much detail will do later. when more ppl have seen

    Locke was way wrong.
Looks like Des was responsible for taking down the plane.
    Walt got 'his boy' back.
Des' love interest looks to have a very vested interest in the island and hatch no1.

Hmmm.. i enjoyed the episodes immensely but thought the ending was a let-down!
I'm betting we won't see Harold Perrineau (Michael) back next season

Regarding the ending.. i was expecting something cataclysmic (sp?) that would change the way we viewed the events of the season.. but essentially tying the cliffhanger in with a character which was just introduced in the beginning of the episode was a bit of a let-down.

Good to see Michael Emerson (Henry) back..

The whole Inman thing was essentially a bit daft.. but 'Lost' is full of those little con-incidences and "leaps of faith" so i'll let it pass. Also Libby's husband was David... now, i know Dave was all in Hurley's mind but that's also too much of a co-incidence.

So, what will become or Eko and Locke next season? I'm presuming at least one of them got away in time but the scenes in the hatch were just fantastic.

And also what will become of Jack, Kate and Sawyer? All very interesting stuff which i think will begin the third season off to a bang!

Oh.. and regarding how the plane crashed was excellent. So obvious - i think that theory may have been mentioned before at some point this season. That essentially the magnetism brought the plane down.

Oh.. and i got the punchline to the joke right! :D

Could talk about it a helluva lot more but it's lunchtime! :D

    Roll on October!

Weak ending let the episode down so i'll give it an 8/10.

Right. That's it. I'm gonna go and boil my head in a great big pot of molten steel. Imagine my excitement... A whole page of spoilers. Joy.

Then imagine the let down when I read it and find I've learnt next to nothing...

I want real spoilers like :
Hurley sees the numbers on the side of the hatch, but Locke blows it open anyway.

    That kind of thing...

P.S. I'm not actually gonna put spoiler caps on that. It seems fairly common knowledge at this point...

    P.P.S. Changed my mind...

    fan-tas-tic

Oh MIGWAR-DWP, here's a quick fix for ya:
things go nuts in da hatch when d button aint pressed - every metallic object turns into a missile, forks, spoonógs, fire extinguishers and washing machines start flying thru d air past charlie and eko's heads
but ur not gonna learn nything from dat one either :)

that's definatly one of the best episodes i've seen yet. absolutly brilliant. strange last 2 mins, but the other 124mins were amazing. excellent backstory, especially the last few. and the bit with
the timer running down, then des (coolest character yet) turning the key and the noise and white sky...

    brilliant, just brilliant. 10/10

Arg, this si killing me. I know we're not suppose to talk about how mysteriously all us irish people can see a show that only just aired in America, but lets just say the person(s) who usually gets it for me is being a bitch. They're taking so much from me and not giving anything back, so to speak :)

    Must, resist, spoilers..............

excellent episode. just explain one thing - why are the two russian guys and desmonds ex is purgatory too? :P

seriously, good stuff. they finally had a plot spring clean. clear up the chaff - the hatch (including the whole faith/science rubbish, the disappearing map, desmond), michael and "muh boiii" and in those last few moments finally destroyed the majority of theories about where/when they are. new plots for next year - huzzah!

    9/10

My thoughts on the final scene are that Pen is looking for Desmond having discovered he has been marooned on the island.
I guess money and determination get you two homies at the north pole.

What are peoples thoughts on the whole Widemore thing?

    Des's ex-wife is a Widemore
Claire's pregnancy test was Widemore brand I think
Didn't Fenry say he had a company or something?
Libby was credited as Elizabeth Widemore in the last ep I think

I can't remember the rest of the connections but it must play a big role next season, no?

Thoroughly enjoyed both episodes, great stuff altogether.

I loved the ending, especially the line, "That's it isn't it, We've missed it again" a nice throw back to the charge that brought the plane down, the Russian lads obviously missed the coordinates of that one.

Did anyone else find the reason given for the plane crash a little silly? It makes sense and all but what had the plane of course in the first place? There was only about 30 seconds between the system failure messages and when the numbers were entered, suspicious? or am I just overthinking things?

Anyway 9/10 for me, Mainly because although I liked the ending it just didn't have the same shock as from the first season.

excellent stuff altogether. A 9/10 from me - this was close to perfect, but only perfection deserves a perfect score.

It cleaned up a lot of crap storylines and resolved some of the better ones.

No idea how to use spoiler tags so LOOK AWAY NOW IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS.

Michael - good riddens pal. Hopefully jack kate or sawyer overheard the instructions on how to escape the islands magnetic field (i.e. head 3.26 north from that location).

Desmond - too much too quickly but best backstories for a while.

THe fact that fenry's baloon had widmore written on it is now of even more importance. Is Penny looking for the island or Desmond (probably Desmond) but how would they know to relate an electromagnetic anomaly to Desmond's whereabouts? Or is she looking for Des but her father also has a more sinister involvement with the island?

Fenry's 'we're the good guys' bodes the question 'why haven't we seen the bad guys yet?'.

not sure I quite understand what the 'dam' was and what happened when he turned the key - anyone wanna help clarify it? I assume it let out all the electromagnetic build up, but is there now any left and will it not just start to build up again? Wonder if the hatch is ruined now, that'd be a good thing but we'd not see the map again. Desmond can't be dead if Penny is now being brought into things.

Cannot for the life of me, understand what they want with jack, kate and sawyer but it'll be interesting to see this. Also seems what walt had was transferable, be it skills or knowledge, so good luck to him to little head wrecker that he was.

Most intriguing thing of all was that big massive foot of the statue - what the hell was that about?

I'm not buying that Sayid is sitting there like a sucker on the beach, I'd expect first episode next season to include him catching a glimpse of the handover of the captives.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,566 ✭✭✭GrumPy

    8
Sayid had one of his classic "mr. state the obvious" lines near the start :D In fact, it was prolly the biggest one ever.. lol "remember when we were on the beach walking this way, I told you of michaels intentions......." or something like that :p

I agree with jonnybadd about the ending. I'd prefer if it was a big cliffhanger.
    Still great though.

Fenry's 'we're the good guys' bodes the question 'why haven't we seen the bad guys yet?'.

ya, that also was weird. maybe their are the good guys, and theres still some sharma guys there, or maybe they are trying to stop dharma doing something, also looked like henry is the head honcho, from the way he was talking to everyone, which leads me to believe he wanted to be captured, to shake lockes belief in the hatch/button?
Most intriguing thing of all was that big massive foot of the statue - what the hell was that about?

that was also bloody weird. and it must have been absolutly massive.
I'm not buying that Sayid is sitting there like a sucker on the beach, I'd expect first episode next season to include him catching a glimpse of the handover of the captives.

we saw near the end, when the light and sound went crazy, that he was still on the boat with sun and jin. maybe he'll see michael going, and go after thim? (although i hope not)

    that didn't live upto the

best end of season I've heard ever remark by JJ. Abrams

but I enjoyed it, at first i wasn't happy with the end but the more i thought about it i thought maybe we're gonna have a great third seas on,

more mysteries, surprise surprise, 4 toes, birds speaking to hurley, and the whole village was a front, damn those dharminians,

Brilliant episode, one of the best backstories yet. My favourite bit was when Desmond found the letter.

    Whats peoples thoughts on the electromagnetic fail safe thing? Am I right in thinking that, the key does the computers job when theres no computer? A few things I don't get is;

If the last time someone didnt press the button on time the magnetism field got so strong that it pulled an aeroplane from the sky, how come this time the Others boat wasnt affected?

Another thing is, if the key was like pushing the button, then won't they have to do that every 108 minutes too? If not, they're pretty ****ed with pretty much nobody knowing the key, and those that do possibly dead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,295 ✭✭✭jonnybadd

I forgot to mention that I thought it was very interesting the way Fenry turned out to be the leader of the 'others'. Which also leads me to think did he get caught on purpose in Rossaus trap? And was all this pre-planned to get Mick to do what he did?

Also Toms fake beard, was this to give the impression that they (the others) were living on the island and somehow to get the losties to underestimate their true power and numbers? It should be interesting to find out where the others call home.

I love the goosebumps feeling i get from a good episode. Though not as excellent as the black smoke/eko episode (minus the flashbacks) it was still fairly fcukin good. Fenrys eyes are weird...

I think they sent Hurley back because he was good.. we haven't seen what happened to Jack when he was in ....... (cant remember what country, no not Aus!!) where he learned to use a weapon.

Dont see why they let Micheal go seeing as he killed Libby and Slackjaw Lucia. Although maybe they were bad as well. I also think they (D'Others) are lying about the bearing/escape.

Maybe Penny's Da is the mysterious figure in the window in the first orientation vid. Maybe he is Hanso... no ... to far now.. stop.
