Apparently Bertie has now been crowned the "Queen of Drumcondra" , for his weekly makeup allowance of 480 euros . Seems execessive , I know we want our leader looking good -- but for a man of the people 480 on makeup is a bit poncy IMO.

Maybe I'm really ahead of the times but I remember a lot of talk about Bertie's excessive make-up bill a few years ago......

Yes i have read that. What people don't realise is "make-up" in this case it not just foundation etc.

All people on TV wear make up, and since he appears on tv more than most he wears more. Most of the cost of it is for the people who actually apply the makeup and their wages are set my the union (siptu) and he has no control over that.

In fairness you get what you pay for and Bertie's looking sh-h-h-arp these days

You wouldn't be very proud if our leader started cutting corners and ended up looking less than his best

Ah, I didn't know whether you had actually seen the story or not. I thought you were dismissing the entire thing out of hand. I'm not too worried at all about the 'make-up money', most of it goes to the staff who apply it on Bertie, as you said.

Hmm you never know he could decide to ride the Lordi wave to popularity :)
