Seeking rhythm section

Right. So I'm currently on the lookout for a mature and talented bassist and drummer who are willing to try out a whole mishmash of musical styles (indie, acoustic, electronic, a little prog, the occasional four-chord rock song cause they're funny). If you're looking for influences, look here and for some simple guitars on my other band's MyShame over here (not me on vox, I've a more clear/Brian Molko-ish voice I guess).

I've been writing for a few years now and have a rather horrific back catalogue of material, a lot of it with bass and drumlines written, so getting started on that front isn't a problem. The only thing is that I've had only a simple drum machine to work with and it's sorta not helping get the sound I'm looking for.

So, anyone interested? PMs or replies of any kind all good.

Well, you mention Tool and GY!BE so I must say I'm already impressed - you've probably got me out-technicalled I'm located in Blessington currently but am moving to Dublin city centre very soon and spend most of my time there anyways.

I love GY!BE's stuff And Tool, naturally (but that's just a tad difficult to play )

To be honest, it's more the fact that you're willing to try and mix genres that would attract me. You seem pretty down to earth too, and those myspace recordings show that you're able to play, and I liked some of the lines in those songs too.

I've got a couple of samples here, but I wouldn't really feel comfortable sending them as they don't really reflect my skill, so I'll try and whip up some ASAP.

Well tbh that stuff doesn't reflect my skill all that well, but I think I've more an ear for a good line than a technical turn of wrist, so to speak I'd be interested in hearing what you have, and then if you've better stuff later then all the ... um, better

I enjoy dabbling in the technical side of things with time signatures, etc, but I don't really enjoy it unless it's got a good line behind it. I listen to an odd bit of Meshuggah, but I find it very hard to take sometimes.

Not talking age-wise, although 16/17 is too young I'm 22 myself, want people round that range and up who are going to be dedicated to the music and also willing to listen I don't want to be a dictator, that's not how bands work, but I do have a lot of material already written.

Setup you mean? Well at the moment I'm looking to set up a three piece, myself on guitar and vocals - have a mate who I think will make a good lead guitarist at some point but not looking to overcomplicate things just yet.

1) Drummer seems pretty much sorted *nods to Waltons* HOWEVER still seeking a talented bassist who wants to try both experimental and catchy stuff.

2) Location-wise I'm now in Dublin city centre, which makes things that bit easier for all concerned.

If you know Porcupine Tree that'd be the best availably comparison. Heavy-ish and prog-ish. I don't have a specific influence in mind, more a sound I know I want to aim for, it's hard to put down here what I mean
