I'm wondering what the users of Accommodation / Property think about where it belongs in the site hierarchy.

Should there be a place to post advertisements (note ad.s are being moved to www.adverts.ie) - Announcement http://boards.ie/vbulletin/announcement.php?f=246.

Should it be in Biz or Soc?

Should there be a new board or boards dealing with things like construction and planning permission? Note there is also the Gardening / DIY board and I have set up a similar thread there. http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=51418091#post51418091

I think you should consider the life cycle of a property when trying to figure out its hierarchy.

    i.e. finance - planning - purchase-rent/occupy-DIY-sale

How you arrange this is another thing.

What I would say would be to have a property section
with a sticky for finance, planning and rent/occupier issues (allot of these topics seem to repeat its self) with only relevant questions asked her (any stupid questions or any ot questions = banning)

    How I would do it

    Soc

Property → Sub Section: DIY (and all its relevant sections – don’t go to here much
so nut sure what that entails)

Sticky: Finance (facts resources questions etc about acquiring property interest rates etc)
Sticky: Planning (facts resources questions etc)
Sticky: Legal Questions (Who to use how much they charge service level etc)
Sticky: Renting Issues (facts resources questions etc)
Sticky: Occupier Issues (facts resources questions etc)
Stick: Estate Agents (Who to go to. What’s involved? Who is good bad etc (this could be a trick one)

Main are to ask question re property
i.e is this a good area to live in?
    Developer. Is he any good?
Issues that haven’t been covered in the stickys
    etc

All selling/letting/letting wanted etc should be in new for sale forum www.adverts.ie

    Just my thoughts anyways
