    Taken from Lockflow.com:

“The Ultimate Fighter: The Comeback” is set to debut Thursday, Aug. 17 at 10 p.m. on Spike. The fourth season will focus on fighters whose dream of winning a UFC title have never come true. The 16 former UFC fighters - eight middleweights and eight welterweights - are already gathered in Las Vegas for production of the series, which begain yesterday.

Added to the drama of these guys all living in one house is the fact that some of them are former rivals, bringing revenge and redemption into the equation. The winning middleweight and welterweight will earn title fights and a six-figure cash prize.

“The Ultimate Fighter 4 is the comeback season and it’s going to be the most exciting yet,” said UFC president Dana White. ‘Everyone knows these fighters, but it’s going to be a totally different show and we’re pumped to get started on it.”

Instead of coaches for the two teams, prominent UFC personalities will serve as advisors and counsels for the 16 fighters. They include Randy Couture, Georges St. Pierre and Mark Delagrati.

It doesn't look as bad as I thought it would be, I'm actually looking forward to it!

I just hope Matt Lindland doesn't go for it. It seemed insulting to his reputation when he was considered. He has earned his title shot two times over and should have fought Franklin before they gave him the boot! No way should he have to fight his way through a reality t.v show.

Any rumours on the contestants? I heard Matt Serra but I don't know of anyone else.

Didn't Nick Diaz win his last fight?

    I think this sounds brilliant.

Sounds cool...but its kinda dumb giving the winners title shots - beating 3 washed up ufc fighters = title shot? demeans the belts i think

Who's Welter and Middle champ now, Hughes and Franklin? Don't think they'd be that worried.

haha, remember Nick Diaz was talking smack about Diego being overrated because he was on TUF. Looks like the roles are reversed.

What has to be done to get rid of that guy? He lost to Sanchez, Riggs and Sherk, and he is still here?

Looking at the line up, it just seems like a really boring UFC undercard.

It does demean the belt. What if when the show finishes, there already is a number one contender? do they bypass him?

I'm assuming what happens is that the winner of the show would wait until whatever No 1 contender needs to have his fight, and then fights the champ, be it the same old champ, or the new champ.

As for how the show is "demeaning" the belt, i don't think so. Franklin's first title defence was Nate Quarry....did that demean the belt???? Not at all, it was a fight, someone won. Simple.

To be honest, any of those guys could win three fights in a row on UFN's or UFC's and people would then be eyeing them up for the belt.

Why not just get it all out of the way in a few weeks...it could kickstart something good for some of the fighters, and for the UFC, might even bring out a legitimate threat in either division, you'd never know.

Some of those guys have a lot of experience after all.

I think that fight actually did demean the belt. Ithad to be the most undeserved title shot in the history of mma, and Quarry got absolutely stomped. Embarassing stuff - look at some of the guys in pride, Sergei Kharitonov for example, how many fights does he have to win to get a shot?? Crocop had to nearly murder about 10 guys for his shot etc. If there isnt a clear contender for the belt and they want their champ to fight, then they should have non title fights like they do in pride.

Yeah , but then you'd have the "he's running scared, won't defend his belt" thing, so which would be worse???

All in all, if i was a champ i would just fight whoever was put in front of me for my belt. At the end of the day a fight is a fight, and anyone can lose to anyone on the right day ( sure, sometimes it is highly unlikely but still ) and i'm sure the champs would just rather defend the belt than not do so.

Yeah I'm sure Rich Franklin was happy to give Quarry his chance, and show he defends his belt, and take home the money.

And so the UFC circus goes on. Its WWE now. Shame, but I suppose its getting MMA noticed.

Yeah but Nate has heavy hands and Rich has a weak chin...
