Sky box crashed!!!

    My second sky box (non plus) in the bedroom seems to have crashed and I can't get it back working ... I really don't want to spend an hour waiting to talk to tech support.

    I was watching telly last night and I tried to turn on subtitles when the screen just went a grey/whiteish colour , I have turned on and off a few times, it just keeps coming back on grey/whiteish !! has anyone got any idea what to do ? before I get more grey hairs on hold for sky ?

    You've "turned it off" by actually pulling it from the wall I hope; the button on the front doesn't turn it off.

    Other than that, check all the cables. If they're all working, the box is dead.

    some models tend to over heat , are the vents clear...

    some older models can also blow their power supply....

    bingo !!! I thought I was pulling the plug out .. but I was only pulling out the stereo beside it !!!

    back working !! cheers for that ... at least I didn't spend an hour on the phone to find that out !!

    that happened me before, only the screen went totally black with a solid red square about 1/3 the size of the screen in the bottom right hand side

    a quick unplug and restart sorted it out.
