Took all the advice and tried to apply it to improve on my earlier shots. Also took a couple of shots of a Pineapple which I think turned out ok. But lets see what you all think - all pointers welcome....

I love the top of the Pineapple!

    Edit: and the side part!

My only tip is to use a lower ISO! (@ Elven: :p )

If your bored Skye, get out a spray thingy at squirt some water above the pineapple so it falls on it like rain...! :)

:p fajitas I know you secretly have a fetish for grain and you're just not out the closet. it'll all come out after a few on Wednesday night I'm sure muhahaha...

Anyway, sorry skye, I just left a comment on my favourite one in flickr there. I don't think you need me to come along and say how easily you picked that up, now you can just keep on going and find your own style. It's just about having fun and making pretty pictures :)

The only thing i would say is that the ones of the pineapple skin are great for texture, but the flash (personal preference/opinion only remember) tends to wash out the colours and give hard shadows and bright highlights, if you manage to get it into natural light and force the flash to stay off, the colours will show up more as well as the detail.

Hope you're enjoying it anyway. Definitely getting some good results....
