    Hi All,

Just looking for opinions as to whether it is worth upgrading from 300D to 350D? Before you answer, I'm not getting a 20D or 30D!!
THe 350D has a few features over the 300D that are desirable - larger sensor (I print a reasonable amount of 8X10s->A3s), power up time is greatly reduced, some more control over features like metering etc. and a few other features. Oh, it also comes in black, which is a huge improvement over the silver IMO.

The 350D looks to be around 650 plus and extra ~120 for a battery grip, which seems reasonable enough.

Has anyone here done the upgrade? Good? Bad? Indifferent?

How much could I expect to get for the 300D ?
    Thanks,
    Cambo...

I'd say probably not. Install the firmware hack and you'll have most of the features back that were hobbled by Canon on the 300D (mirror lock up, selectable AF modes, flash exposure compensation etc). The extra 2Mp doesn't make *that* much difference in reality

What might make it worthwhile is better high ISO performance if you take a lot of low light photos, and the startup time is nice (I've missed more than a few shots waiting for the 300D to wake up). The small size might be a plus for some, but since you're mentioning the battery grip I'd say it's not a factor in your case.

I've upgraded from the 300D to the 350D just a week ago.
I had the 300D with the wasia firmware which gave me flash exposure compensation, mirror lock up and some nice controls but the 350D is a huge upgrade, much faster, boots up instantly, much faster writting to the CF card, I shoot in Raw and makes a big difference. I've also noticed a wider dynamic range.
Overall I'm very happy with the upgrade, I was gonna buy a 30D next month but I think I'm gonna get a portable lighting kit instead. This camera gives me the controls and quality I need right now.

If somebody wants a 300D + battery grip, have a look at the FS forum ;)

The 350D's body is quite smaller than the 300D's, so the battery grip improves the handling, specially if you have big hands and/or big/heavy lens attach to the camera.

I had a play around with the 350D this morning and the battery grip is definitely something I'd want, otherwise the camera is just too small and my last two fingers seems to slip off the bottom, but with the battery grip it's more substantial.
I'm going to try the firmware upgrade first, while I work on the missus :-) I doubt she'd be thrilled about me getting a new camera, especially after me getting an iPod last week...

I find the 350d the perfect size. (: Then again, I have girlhands.
